  1. Yup, it seemed to me he was angry at Crouch for not just hitting it himself.
  2. Reina: 7 - little to do but dealt with the few things well. Finnan: 8 - Solid as always and got forward well. Carra: 8 - Solid as always. Hyypia: 8 - Solid as always. Riise: 7 - Good in defence and good going forward. Average game for him but that is good enough most of the time. Garcia: 7 - Great movement, not lucky today with his little tricks but overall a good game. Kewell: 8 - Best so far (ignoring the first few months for us). Beat his man on a regular basis and whipped in crosses. Something we've been lacking for some time. Getting better with each game. Alonso: 8 - He's simply mastered the art of passing. And he's getting better each game at tackling back. Gerrard: 9 - Great performance in every aspect. Defended Alonso as well and got stuck in. No more Mr. NiceGuy from him. Crouch: 8 - Again, great performance. But he'd score more goals if he just shot at goal instead of laying it off to other players (example: layoff to Garcia today instead of shooting himself. Morientes: 8 - Getting better and better. Great passing, great movement and perhaps most importantly showing more aggression than before. Flo-Po: 7 - Good touches and movement. Cisse: 7 - Looking better each game. Obviously trying to be more of a team player, but is it too late? Josemi: 7 - Short time but did what he had to do well.
  3. hehe, cool. I always liked him but that was a couple (several actually) of years ago. Sweden and Spain the teams to follow this summer. Since my own national team seem unable of producing a crop of players capable of anything.
  4. Teddy Lucic still playing for Sweden? Perhaps you're right though, haven't been able to watch Sweden as often as I can since I moved from there.
  5. Doubt he's want to move to us in Jan. He would know he'd get few games which would possibly result in him losing his place in the Swedish team. He won't risk that. We should have gone for him a couple of years ago. He's not the same player as he was.
  6. Nothing wrong with that. Doesn't mean it's right or sensible though.
  7. OK, smackdown time. Cisse: First 39 games for Liverpool resulted in 15 goals. ca. 40% ratio First 17 games for France (11 as a sub) resulted in 5 goals. ca. 30% ratio Owen: First 38 games for Liverpool resulted in 19 goals. ca. 50% ratio First 22 games for England resulted in 7 goals. ca. 31% ratio Where's the great difference? edit: grrrr, forums don't support all symbols.
  8. That's the best you can come up with?
  9. A more important question is what team will score most?. And there is no doubt in my mind what team that will be. But I'm confident that Cisse will have a higher goal ratio this season than Owen.
  10. Cisse is getting close to that ratio.
  11. for big wayne. And speaking about Newcastle and their love of strikers. Owen could have gone down in history being mentioned in the same breath as Rush, Fowler, Aldridge and the list goes on. What greater honour is there in football for a striker? My prediction is that in 10-15 years the only memory of him will be preserved when talking about players who squandered their chance of making history by allowing their greed to take the drivers seat. (be it professional or monetary). And this will be at the same time Gerrard will be remembered as one of the greatest who allowed his love for the club to decide his future and will have kids lining up for his autograph wherever he will go. Mark my words. In 30 years we will all be speaking about Gerrard as one of the greatest at the same time as Owen will be mostly forgotten.
  12. 11 goals in 34 games in a new country isn't good enough for you? During a time when he could have lost his leg? Many players would never come back stronger. Cisse has come back stronger both physically and mentally. The best sign a player can show is to have the will to prove their manager wrong. And Cisse seems determined to do that. And you say you will support him on the ground. I call BS. Will you tell him to hold his chin up high during the bad spells? Will you cheer him on during the winter months in the rain and the wind? Will you cheer him on when the game seems tossed and blown? Or will you quietly whisper to your friend next to you at the game "I told you so"? Supporters support their club and current players at all times, through the bad times and good. That is what makes a club have as beautiful history as our club does. And you say we won't succeed with him? FFS we won the biggest and most coveted trophy in the world in club football with him on the pitch. He scored a pressure penalty in the game we made history. And you think we won't succeed? We had no strikers at times last season and still we made history in the greatest final of all times. And now you think we won't win with one of the more talented forwards in the game today? And this you call support? Disgraceful!
  13. Tell me. Would you have wanted Owen to take the penalty instead of Cisse in Istanbul? Would you have wanted Owen to come on with 8 minutes left a goal down against CSKA or Cisse? It doesn't matter who's the better player. Real has shown that with such eloquence that it's unbelievable that people still buy into that myth. Big names does not make the best team. A clever manager with the right players does. To play with the heart in the right place goes a long way. What matters is who is better for the team. Football is a team game and we should support the team. Not a player. We should support the club.
  14. Why don't you guys just go support Chelsea or Newcastle? It seems like you support Michael more than our own players. It's disgusting to see how you talk about a player who's a French international player, a player who quite clearly loves to play for our club, a player who has come back stronger from being within minutes of losing his leg and who actually says he want's to play for us. Is this the second time Owen has said one thing and then done another when it comes to us? He f*cked this up by saying he would play for Newcastle if we weren't able to buy him. That made Newcastle offer silly money for him which made it impossible for us to get to an agreement with Real. He also didn't leave Real to come home. That wasn't why he wanted to leave. He left because he was worried about his place in the England squad for the WC. He has not in anyway shown that he wanted to play for us and only us. He made the choice last year to leave us in a way that was nothing but insulting. And now he expected us to cough up silly money for him to save him from his self-inflicted misery. That so called "supporters" of our great club use this mess, created solely by Owen, to have a dig at a player who loves to play for this club and who's so far scored 11 in 34 in a new country and during a time when he could have lost his leg due to a horrible injury is sickening. That so called "supporters" of our great club trash talk a player who even married in our colours and who has scored 5 in 20 for France (many of whom in games in which he was a substitute) is sickening and shows that you know f*ck all about football. Try supporting the club instead of a player who wanted something "better" than us. Try supporting our players instead of kicking them down. Try to support the Champions of Europe or go support the Russian mafia or the next Leeds (or whatever club your beloved Owen plays for next year). Try to support Liverpool FC, the most successful team in England. Try to support the club instead of a player who left us when we needed him the most. Try supporting Liverpool FC.
  15. Do you guys think that there could be a chance that Cisse has simply said that he won't go now and that is creating problems for the board/Rafa in financing this move?
  16. Agreed.
  17. I'm gonna order a few. How long do you think it'll take to send them out? Also. I'm on Iceland so I was wondering how much would be needed for postage? Thanks:)
