  1. Wow your ability to be optimistic in such a scenario is to be admired fyds. I relay hope your right, even though i dont share your optimism.
  2. Unless there is another viable option. My ideal owner was Robert Kraft of the New England Patriots. But seeing that is not gonna happen i would be happy with DIC. You can claim a 7 year strategy as negative aspect of DIC. But look at the cold hard facts regarding G&H. All shareholders got extra money. Maybe that influenced the decision. Rick Parry got to keep his job. Maybe that influenced his decision. G&H have claimed to take over a club, conducting due diligence in 2 days whereas DIC took 2 months. Now rafa is claiming they dont understand how the european transfer market works, one of the basic skills needed to run a football club. Did G&H really understand the obstacles facing our club. Or did they see commerical success of ManUnited and blindly jump in.
  3. I dont think so mate. Every businessman had made money acquiring companies and selling them of later. So you could make that accusation on every owner. I dont think they could have made any profitable return on their investment within 7 years. They have behaved impeccably after the bid failed despite LFC running a negative PR campaign against them. They responded once to the accusations and then shut up. They have not gone after any other club after that effort even though they have the financial leeway to do so.
  4. He was rated the best player in Serie A the year Juve won the league which they were later stripped of. Crouch even at his very very best cannot even dream of reaching the best player in the league status.

  11. Roeder is planning to keep one of Gooch or Bramble . Apparently Bramble has had contract extension talks http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/newcast...ws/tm_headline= onyewu-left-in-limbo%26method=full%26objectid=18832214%26siteid=50081-name_page.html "The Journal understands United, who are aiming to sign two new centre-backs in the summer, will keep either Titus Bramble or Onyewu, with Roeder yet to make a final decision. Bramble had been set for a new contract, but talks were called off after he was heavily criticised by Roeder in the aftermath of the Uefa Cup defeat by Alkmaar." Any premiership manager who even contemplates offering Bramble a contract extension deserves to be sacked on the spot.

  13. I agree with you on that mate. But most people compare their wages with their peers.Like if you were a footballer you would be comparing yourself with Rooney, Lampard and trying to reach that level. I truly understand the sentiment behind your post though.

    Pennant

Agger is different from Pennant in the sense that he knows that he is special. You could see it from the very first interview he gave.He knew he had something to offer to the club. He looked very happy to have signed for LFC but deep inside he knew that it was just a matter of time before which he signed for a club of such stature. He has that bit of cockiness, the pizzaz associated with great players. You can see that confidence in his game, ball skills, passing etc.If some of that rubs onto Gonzo/Pennant/Bellamy we have 3 very good players in our hand.
  17. For all the negativity towards Neill, based on current form, he would have started most of the games if he had been bought in the summer transfer window
  18. to be fair for the first few weeks he was up against shola with a bad hip and luque in the training sessions...I think all three of them made each other look good
  19. I used to wonder that too.But when you have a manager who makes such a statement about steven Carr everything cleared up Roeder added: "He's been on fire this season and in every game he has given me a performance. "I bet he hasn't been in as good form as this in his career. There are a few players who have the respect of the whole dressing room here and Stephen is one of them. "If he stays fit we have a heck of a player on our hands and I cannot state how important he is to us. http://www.nufc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsD...~910494,00.html

  21. doesnt matter..still a nice song to sing we should never let facts come in the way of singing a song which will upset the chavs
  22. How close were they? Fact is that curbishley is not the manager of LFC, Rafa is LFC at the end of GH reign was not really an attractive proposition.LFC may sell itself, but so does Bayern and Real Madrid who were looking for new bosses. To a certain extent inter milan also is not that bad of a proposition. Credit to Moores/Parry for getting such a manager to LFC. It was a crucial crucial decision in the history of our club and they got it right.IF Rafa had refused then we wud have had Curbs and hence Parry is crap is one of the s***test anti-parry arguments I have ever heard. Thats precisely what i am saying. Credit to Moores and Parry for attracting such a top class manager to our club.Where did I insinuate that Rafa was an unknown.
  23. I am surprised at the number of people mentioning Rafa.Coz until the initial speculation broke out that rafa was unhappy in Valencia I dont think many people mentioned him.The reason being I dont think many people thought that he would leave a title winning team and join liverpool.Hypothetically if Wenger was available I am sure many people would have wanted him here, but since Wenger was not in the feasible set of managers, not many people mentioned him in the detabes. It was the same case with me for Rafa. Before the speculation broke out, I wanted Mourinho..But I remembered on one particular day, there was an article on the offal that rafa had resigned from valencia with his photo, which I thought was weird.I remember that this was not in the collection of press stories. It was the main article on the page written by one of the Pauls. From that day on, I wanted Rafael Benitez at Liverpool. As for the merits of O'Neill vs Benitez, I think O'Neill would have adjusted to the league faster and would have gotten us the 4th position that year. But I dont think there is no single manager , I repeat no one who could have won us number 5 with that squad other than Rafa.
