  1. It's been organised in response to the news over the stadium, which only came to light on Friday. Damned if they do, damned if they don't. I'm just waiting for the first person to accuse them of deliberatley giving short notice to keep the oot's away.
  2. If you haven't had your membership pack by now you should have, i'm more than happy to chase this for you. As far as getting your point across, representatives of the Union will be at the Supporters Club on Breck Road before and after every game, and I would imagine there will be another mass meeting soon, whether it be at Olympia or another similar sized venue, obviously though, having one before every game would be pointless.
  3. I would actually agree with that at the moment, and I think you'll find the sole focus at the moment is on them, but only because they have again given us the chance to let them know what we think. There have been weeks over the summer when it has been totally silent from both the club and the americans, and it is hard to react to that, you can always have things like the "big dig" etc but they will only work x amount of times. It is during the quiet periods that we can lend time to the other objectives, all of which have come at the request of our members. I can assure you, that right now, the sole focus of everyone who is running the union are the actions that we are going to take over the coming weeks, we were aware the story was going to break and have been preparing since then. IMO the actions that are being worked on are totally executable and can have a noticable impact.
  4. I think everyone shares the same primary objective, but even then, you can have ten different people wanting to do ten different things. Some members want to down the militant route, others think that could be counter productive. Some members want to mainly focus on keeping the fight in the public eye, some think that this was merely cosmetic and would make little real difference. It's the same situation with the statements that have been released, they don't release something and they get accused of resting on thier laurels, they release one and they get criticised because the subject matter doesnt meet everyone's approval, or the grammar may be slightly off. These are issues we have on a subject that everyone agrees on, that we need to get Hicks and Gillett out, so you can imagine the problems they have when they are trying to achieve other objectives, coach travel, improving ticketing etc. You only have to look at the fallout to Kevin Sampson's interview with the Echo to see how much of a minefield it is. They get accused of being anti-oot by certain sites, and at the same time, we have members who don't go on the internet accuse us of not looking after the locals.
  5. They know exactly what they want, it's how they get it which is the rub. As I mentioned earlier and as Knox also alluded to, something could very well be in the offing soon. Reasoned debate can only ever strenghten the union, but you have to realise it is a massively broad church and they are not going to be able to please all of the people, all of the time.
  6. Sent Would have replied sooner but I was too busy watching Everton get stuffed.
  7. Actually Wayne, the plan was to make membership free to under 16's, but for one reason or another which I'm not going to go into, it wasn't feasible or executable, but it is still being worked on and hopefully a practical solution can be found. They are also stongly in favour of reserve games returning to Anfield so those that cannot get to league games get a chance to at least see some some football. (I've just tried to send you a pm, but it wouldn't work, are you picking up the mail to the address in your profile, nice one)
  8. I don't think it was I do think it could have been worded better, but I think it illustrated the difference between us and our "supposed" peers quite well in regards to finance.
  9. Did you read that bit where I said SOS have taken professional advice on the subject, and the advice was to keep the powder dry, let the americans trip themselves up and then react, expose them for what they are, and target areas where we know a difference can be made.
  10. It's called the LIVERPOOL ECHO FFS If I read the Cork Independant, are you saying I should be upset that they are only concerned with people from Cork and the surrounding area, as they have a website which can be read in Kazakstan?
  11. Which will only happen under different ownership SOS are trying to help facilitate the removal of said owners. Dead easy really when you think about it See that story about the stadium being delayed and how it was put out in the media before Fraud communications could package it up and make it sound not so bad, well certain members of SOS were instrumental in getting that story in the public domain.
  12. In an interview with a local paper "sigh"
  13. It's my opinion on the matter, rightly or wrongly, that's the impression I get from here. It's a massive shame because now, more than ever, we all need to stand shoulder to shoulder and put aside differences. The union were advised a while ago that the best course of action was to react to the mistakes of Hicks and Gillet, and retaliate accordingly, as opposed to releasing statement after statement and generally boring people to death. They are working on certain things right now in regards to action against the americans that should form up over the next 48 hours. It has to be targeted and effective if it is going to be noticed by our erstwhile owners.
  14. When have they said that?
  15. Talk about a loaded poll Andy Then again, it seems that you've had a problem with SOS from day one. It also seems that, if i'm honest, the biggest problem that some people on here have is that it wasn't "their" idea, and have had their superfan ego bruised, obviously this is only a minority, one thing this site has always had is intelliengent and reasoned debate, but sadly this is often derailed by the previously mentioned minority. Empty vessels and that. There is also this competely imbecelic notion that SOS are anti-oot, borne out of one comment about local fans that was given to the Echo, which, surprise, surprise, is a local paper. Obviously the people who run the union have got things wrong, but they have also got a hell of things right, it is also clear they have fair amount of credibility right across the board, from media, dubai, right through to the upper echelons of the club. Not bad for a gang of aimless scall's with nothing better to do, eh?
