Gerrard's pass with the outside of his right foot gave it to Cisse on a sixpence and he tried some sort of Riise-esque stab with his good foot because the other one is for standing on. And then towards the end where we were on the counter and he received the ball. Pass it outwide ? Hold it up ? No, try and run inbetween 3 of their defenders where there's no space to run into. He was s**t - he wasn't the only one but the other players can play far, far better. I'm not sure Cissse can consistently play to anywhere near the level required.

The midfield were poor. Started quite well but they should have stamped their authority on that game. Gerrard was poor and yet i've read that he " had a great game " whilst Cisse is being shipped back off to Auxerre. Xabi made a good tackle on Evra but for the majority of the game he wasn't anywhere near his usual standard.

i think players or managers need to agree on a code of conduct whereby the ball is played back to the penalty area of the team who were in possession. Then the keeper can pick it up or a defender can have it.

One of the worst parts of Cisse's game today was that he was going for the passes intended for Crouch instead of dropping off for the knock down or running in behind for the flick on. Clueless. I thought we were paying too much for him at £14m and then got caught up in some Carnage loblocks...never again He hasn't improved in 18 months since he arrived and that is why he'll be sold in the summer. He has been poor at times but apart from a few games against the Mancs, Arsenal and Chelsea, i think he is is often subdued in these games. I think it's the biggest aspect of his game that prevents him from being the best player in the world - if he was he'd player better in these type of games. I'll get hounded for saying that but i couldn't give a monkeys.

Also, need to get Gerrard off the right wing. He's playing up against Evra partly because of the height advantage but the passing hasn't been good enough and also he needs to become more involved. At the moment he reminds me of Baros at his worst - just doesn't seem to be able to sustain a rhythm with the rest of the side. The ball Gerrard gave his was a peach and he just ****ed it up.

If Cisse could pull his finger out and figure out what the team is trying to do, he'd be lethal. Apart from one header he's been dreadful.
