I thought he was brilliant at the start of the season and again during our run but he's gone off the boil since mid to late December ( has had the odd excellent 45 minutes since then ). Didn't play well against the Mancs, didn't play well against Chelsea, didn't play well yesterday ( although on that pitch who'd blame him ? ).

I heard the booing and couldn't figure out why. Also heard the crowd break out in laughter and applause when " 5 times " was being sung, as though someone had changed the words or maybe the Wigan fans were singing it.

I understand why he played, i just don't agree with it. Gerrard and Xabi's form this year has been poor by their standards and they look in need of a rest. Today would have been a good opportunity. You can't say we wouldn't have won had one of them not started as we've won without them in the past. We might have won 3-0. There are more difficult games ahead in the next couple of weeks.

Stevie wasn't the best player at the club, i.m.o, so how could he be the best player in the league ? Carra and Finnan were better, more consistent players.

The dangerman was Nolan, 20 yards outside the box, and that Larsson should have been marking him. b******s. Silva should have picked up Nolan but he didn't and left Larsson marking two players. And did you hear him talking about Gardner ? " Phenomenal ". Wenger - How on earth was Flamini's two footed lunge not as bad as Faye's ? It was worse as he didn't get the ball. And Lehmann should have been sent off.

Pisses me off when Reina gets sent off for practically nowt, then in the Arsenal v Bolton match there's two 2 footed jump tackles in the space of a few minutes, Lehmann shoves a Bolton player to the ground and only 1 yellow card gets shown !!! Chelsea proving their class again by not talking to the media after getting hammered by Boro. I've have not seen their defence play that badly since they sold Sinclair and Duberry.

He still wasn't what i'd call a good footballer though. The ball would bounce off his first touch like silly putty and he didn't do much work outside 25 yards away from goal. I was hoping he'd develop and that Rafa could polish his raw, unrefined talent but it's not happening at all. He moves like an athlete and plays football like a shotputter.

Something some fans can't handle. Players like Gerrard, Fowler, Carra are perfect. Amzed that some fans don't mind Gerrard playing through an injury. I think we'd have won today had we started with Kromkamp on the right or Sissoko in midfield. Gerrard could have come on for the last 30 minutes had we not been in the lead. Our slump has coincided with the poor form of key players who are obviously suffering from fatigue. Xabi isn't used to the schedule, Gerrard's knackered. I thought today was a decent opportunity to rest a player or two.

Yet you'd play him for 90 minutes when he's injured.

If he's injured then what the **** is he doing playing ( especially on a pitch like that ) with the games we have coming in the next couple of weeks ?

I agree with much of that. Would love him to start playing like we know he can but it's not happening. I think he'll be sold in the summer or possibly used in a part exchange deal like Josemi was.

He wasn't our worst player and Fowler was knackered - open your eyes.
