What's the best stream out there? This one is ok but nae spectacular http://atdhe.net/32409/watch-blackpool-vs-liverpool

I agree. Based on his pre-Liverpool form he looked like a highly interesting prospect with much of the raw ingredients to fashion a quality player. Clearly it hasn't worked out like that.

IMHO While Johnson is hardly Maldini defensively I think his defensive capabilities lose us very little points-wise. I can think of precious few goals that he was largely culpable for, further still any goals that cost us points. Anyone have any idea of how we fared points-wise when he was in the side versus when he was out injured?IMHO While Johnson is hardly Maldini defensively I think his defensive capabilities lose us very little points-wise. It's clear that Masch has been unsettled to various degrees over the past 18 months. With no CL football and the club in a bit of a pickle financially he's always going to be a prime candidate for an exit. It's also clear that he's the one "big" name that fans could stomach leaving if a sacrifice has to be made to generate some funds for bodywork elsewhere in the squad. If Rafa's Inter want him and are willing to pay the going rate (£25m+) then I wouldn't bear Rafa any ill will. Personally I think targetting Torres or trying to hijack the Jovanovic deal would've been a far more offence.

I remember seeing a while back a breakdown of which players sell the most shirts worldwide (with Gerrard & Torres being very prominent on this list). Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Urgh, that sounds sickening.

Borrell: Liverpool academy "was unacceptable"
Philby replied to GWistooshort's topic in Liverpool FC
Anyone heard anything to suggest that rodolfo borrell is definitely staying or going? With funds potentially a huge issue for seasons to come a decent conveyor belt of youth players is incredibly important for LFC. -
Agger is a fabulously talented player. IMHO only injury can stop him becoming a truly top-drawer defender, he's not that far off as things stand. Great all-round footballer. Watching him surge into midfield (and glide past them!) is a joy to see

Knox, could you clarify the bit above in bold? Sounds outlandish, is it true? Cheers mate

Morning guys, big game tomorrow night so need something to take my mind off things. Anyone have any idea where I could source a better quality, larger version of the imagine below? Thinking of playing around with it in Photoshop and getting it printed onto a large canvas If there's a chance that it could be sourced for as close as possible to £0 that would be a bonus ;-) http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Guardian/Pix/pictures/2009/5/13/1242207891210/Steven-Gerrard-Liverpools-006.jpg

Here's my take on them... Most Well Balanced - Dalglish & Rush (Dalglish's hold-up play, eye for a pass and ability on the ball dovetail brilliantly with Rush's raw pace, attitude and finishing power) Most Exciting - Fowler and Collymore (you never knew what you were going to get but when they were on form they were on fire...perhaps I'm biased as I've seen less of the 60's and 70's partnerships) Most Robust - Toshack & Keegan (those who would run you ragged and batter you senseless and could play a bit too)

Chelsea without their African Players Chelsea 5-0 Watford Chelsea 7-2 Sunderland Preston 0-2 Chelsea Chelsea 3-0 Birmingham Burnley 1-2 Chelsea 5 games, 5 wins, positive goal difference of 16. Maybe they should organise the ACN for every season!

Anyone have any stats on Liverpool's net spent during Rafa's reign as compared to Citeh, Villa and Spurs? Cheers.
-
Anyone have any info on this? Simply Everton stirring thing or is there a chance of this happening? 26/12/2009 EVERTON are trying to snatch young star Adam Pepper from bitter rivals Liverpool. The 18-year-old central midfielder was the most highly-sought schoolboy on Merseyside when he opted to join the Anfield Academy. But his opportunities have been limited since the restructuring of the club's youth system over last summer. Now Goodison staff are hoping to lure the teenager across Stanley Park, with the promise of making a breakthrough under manager David Moyes. The Toffees boss will be able to offer the teenager the prospect of a quicker route into the first-team and exact revenge on the red half of Merseyside after he was initially lured from Everton as a schoolboy.

Just came across this on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qHgv3suH1w&NR=1 Can't imagine Aquilani will have any issues making himself heard with the squad mainstays (Gerrard, Carra, Torres, Mascherano, Reina etc) if he had the balls to take Totti (the man who can do no wrong in Roman eyes) on.
-
If Aquilani has fully recovered from his illness I'd advocate starting him. Get as much as you can out of him (prob ~1hr before he starts to huff and puff) to aid ball retention early on and hope that his eye for a pass can help Liverpool nick a vital goal while the brightest attacking hope Torres is (hopefully) still on the pitch. Liverpool's Z-list squad members are better equipped to defend a lead for half an hour than to go searching for a winner IMHO If Liverpool can get their noses in front then I'd whip Torres off by the hour mark and let the game N'Gog do the hard yards, working and stretching their back four.
-
I was the exact same. Walked over 3 miles home to my flat afterwards. Gutted we didn't sneak through but proud as fook that we rattled them good, gained a lot of pride back (without Stevie too) and only just missed out
-
Any sign of this squad? United have announced theirs. Hargreaves in, Tosic out.

"Should Liverpool score first it is game on , should Chelsea score first it is game over" I strongly disagree with the above notion that I've heard bandied around. If Chelsea score one then Liverpool's task doesn't change materially. Liverpool still need to score three goals. The key thing for me is for Liverpool to get on the scoresheet in the first half. Even a 1-1 half-time score isn't a total disaster. It's one goal nearer the three goal target. Obviously if Chelsea score more than one then Liverpool's task gets even harder but in terms of keeping the tie alive an early Chelsea goal is not the disaster it may initially appear. 0-0 at half-time and the writing will be very much on the wall. If Liverpool can put themselves within 2 goals of a 3-0, 3-1, 4-2 scoreline with 45 minutes to go then at least they have an achievable target to aim for and can crank the pressure right up with the addition of an extra goal. Very few teams qualify after conceding an away goal in the first leg don't forget. The task in front of Liverpool is huge but not an entirely impossible one. I can see Rafa going with something novel formation-wise...don't be shocked to see a 3 man defence (maybe even with the aerially dominant Hyppia coming in), Babel/Benayoun playing either side of Torres. Benitez will have been hurt by last week's defensive collapse and will be all out to pull off another miracle.

Any pub near the ground in mind for pre-match boozing?
-
We've also not have a single player received a straight red in 46 games in all competitions this season.
-
"Pal Forisol" = "April Fools" Good attempt though.

Obertan looks a real talent. Keep an eye on him.

I don't think he purposely signs any player only for profit making potential..that's a dangerous game. But sometimes players don't quite work out and if they've put in a decent shift and arrived for an underinflated fee then there's potential to make a few bob on them He has also made a profit on the following: Crouch Sissoko Gonzales (?)
