Danns is carrying a lot expectation for someone who has played so little, and against much weaker opposition. He needs to be given time to develop, to see how good he might be.
What we need and have done for a long time is proper and consistent investment in recruitment, and maintenance of contracts of those already at the club.
Richard Hughes is catching the flack on the whole, but he’s a symptom of the absence and vacation of a functioning system over a long period of time. He might be doing a terrible job ( it appears he is), or he could be doing well with the limited control and resource he has at his disposal after years of anything effective being in place structurally or in terms of recruitment.
Effectively it all falls on the mismanagement of “the asset” by FSG
