  1. Portland Timbers supporters do a decent job following them around the country, usually a good 100+ or so at an away. Obviously much more than that when they're playing in Seattle and Vancouver. With my move to Oklahoma City (Hong Kong to OKC, that'll be a culture shock!) next week looming, I'll be adding to the numbers away in Kansas City and Dallas, maybe even Houston depening how much we wanna spend and drive!!
  2. Look at his face, you can tell he's blown away by the occasion and can hardly believe it's all real, you can see in his face that he's looking at the supporters and really understands exactly what it means to wear that shirt and live every young boys dream. Awesome viewing, this clip.
  3. The Red Card Derby, 27 Sept 1999 - When Westerveld and Jeffers went handbags and later Stevie took out Campbell. Staunton ended up in goal. 0-1 (Campbell) Westerveld, Heggem, Hyypia, Carragher, Staunton; Smicer (Camara), Hamann (Gerrard), Redknapp, Berger; Fowler (Meijer), Owen. Subs: Nielsen, Henchoz Went to the corresponding fixture a year laters when Barmby, Heskey, and Berger won it for us. First Liverpool match was a 3-1 loss at Upton Park, went the year after and we won 3-1. Mum, was a West Ham supporter so she'd take me when Liverpool were visiting. Great memories of those, her taking off all my Reds stuff before she'd let me go to the toilet at halftime. Lost Mum back in January and miss her quite a bit every time I see Noble playing for the Hammers as he was her favourite player in the later years Saw some proper legends in those first matches though, the obvious ones for us of course, but also Parkes, Brooking, Lampard et al. Kenny ruffled my hair after signing my programme and he and Sammy took it over to the squad warming up to get Brucey to sign it as well.

  16. Well, 26 this year so still young enough to get back to a good few years.
  17. I've lived in Hong Kong for five years, don't speak any Cantonese other than hello and thank you. Not sure the demographic of Madrid but perhaps, like here, so many people speak English you just don't need to worry about picking it up. I'm ok with the hating Bale program though...proceed! (Spanish I'm good with though

  22. f*** me, joint top, 5 wins (6) on the trot, and debating the keeper.....are some people ever happy? How about some of the rather excellent saves he's made, points saving at Palace comes to mind.
  23. Imagine how good we'll be when we really start clicking and playing well. This was a great test though, test passed.
  24. Gini's been doing well, except for his decision making on that second chance he had. Milner has left us a bit exposed with some of his defensive duties, however Gini has been solid in the defensive role when needed. Neither are having a great game, but I don't think Gini needs a kick up the a***.
