Every year we think this about some of our rivals (eg united last year with varane and sancho) and it rarely pans out that way. Lots thought Lukaku was going to be the missing element for Chelsea for example

That ability to beat a man could be important against low block teams, but its noticeable there were a lot of safe passes in that clip once hr had gone past them. Needs to lead to something. I'm happy he's a squad player, my focus would be having someone more reliable (performance/ fitness wise) as a first four choice than keita. His unreliability puts more pressure/ focus on the other midfield options

By reallocating the wages. If salah leaves his replacement will come in on lower wages and the difference across lifetime of the contract can go towards transfer fee. Need to look at it as total cost rather than splitting wages and fees into different pots

Its about options though - if we had more creativity in the middle Trent might be able to play more conservatively (positionally) in the bigger games
