Adam's is a very British attitude though. Nothing wrong with reverting to a safer option if things aren't going well and making sure we retain possession, as long as dicipline and work-rate are high a team can carry a player whose not performing to his best (a la Dirk) NB. this isn't to accept the lack of responsibility/effort from Downing - a winger who is presumably also in the team to deliver match winning moments - more to say that Adam shouldn't be trying to win the match with every pass, especially when he's playing like dogsh1t.

Annecy is boss but very expensive. There's a s***, expensive Irish bar in the old town where the footy will be on. Chamonix is also boss. There's a Canadian bar just outside the town centre (MBC I think) where they brew their own beer at pretty reasonable prices which will also have the footy

That's actually a pretty fair assessment. The key to this though is the last bit, all you can do in this situation is take the players word for it in which case the usual solution is a slap on the wrist don't do it again and a suspended sentence (8 matches then, why not). The problem for an LFC fans point of view is that given the lack of information they appear to have not taken his word and the reasons for this aren't clear. We can only assume its because he's a nasty foreigner and doesn't have the impeccable credentials of our JT. Or that maybe its to teach Blatter a lesson. Or maybe something else - but what? It should've been explained before he was fed to the wolves.

This is the crux of it. He needs rid of the 1st three before the way he wants to play can be successful. Key questions are whether he has the guts to do it and if he does whether Terry can cry to Abramovich to get him sacked. Either way can't see them winning much this year.

Yeah its b******s but its fairly harmless b******s at the end of the day. Reminds me of another Scouse-US collision when the Beatles met Muhammad Ali didn't do him any harm cos he went back to work and knew that it was the ring that counted. Its just harmless fluff as long as it doesn't affect what happnes in the match on Saturday. Don't really see how its more harmful/degrading/embarrassing than an FA Cup final song or a Jason McAteer head and shoulders advert. Kenny would explain it better than that - but its only ever about the next match - and I bet Kenny couldn't give a toss.
