Aurelio - good to see him fit. Degen - so far so good. Riera point of not Babel - frustating coz the kid surely have talent...but little of everything else Ngog - i like him, but i'd be very concerned if Torres' is out for a period of time.

for argument's sake, i'd sell(or tried to) dossena & voronin & buy either ashley young or david silva for around 25M. and get hamann on a free.

agreed....i assume the £30M will NOT include arbeloa??? if it does.....it looks like a bad deal...i.e. £25M for Xabi & £5M for Alvaro. and oh...we have to buy another backup RB (unless Degen can stay injury-free......)

Altho i agree with this argument (keeping Alvaro at LB), i'd still keep Dossena as i see the Doss as more of covering the LM/LW position.

if we're to buy a backup striker, we'll surely sell Babel. If we're to buy a LW (Silva), we'll surely sell Dossena. If we're to sell Arbeloa, we'll have to buy a backup RB. As it stands, we have a good squad of 2 first XIs. (Reina, Johnson, Carra, Skrtel, Aurelio, Masch, Alonso, Kuyt, Riera, Gerrard, Torres vs Cavalieri, Arbeloa, Agger, 4th CB, Insua, Spearing, Lucas, Benayoun, Dossena, Babel, Ngog)

depends on our budget, because i think our priority should be to buy a third match winner (silva/ribery) for an english player, shldn't we take a look at kevin davies?? scores a few, plusi don't think he'd mind to play second fiddle to torres.

Would love it....absolutely love it if we sign Henry this summer. Saying that, I don't think we'd sign him. I'd blow all of our summer budget to sign a Ribery/Silva-type of player. And prefereably an experienced striker to cover for Torres and a mentor for NGog with money from sales of Babel & Dossena. -
Same team that starts against Villa, with perhaps Insua replacing Masch. (Aurelio playing CM of course).

agreed. rather than pay 12M for Eto & 8M for Barry, i'd take that money and spend it on Silva.
