How long does lucas left on his deal - IMO he should be given at least another 2 years, his improvement has been astronmical.

Watched the youth team v crystal palace, theres at least 4 players there with massive potential, and the football was probably the best any liverpool teams played since we smashed real madrid at home.

weve got a manager who makes good players play s**** - id support coyle given he can get the best out of players like Johan Elmander & the entire burnley squad - would rather a big name but half of me wants a young manager who will be givne time to comepletley rebuild - we wont be challenging for the league for years with our current squad anyway

I would happily take a couple of seasons in the wilderness rebuilding the whole team, getting rid of most of the senior players and putting our faith i a decent manager - better than persisting in adding squad players to the squad players we already have and subsequently having a squad full of average players. complete change in mentality will only be acheived by changing the manager, coach and most of the players whove been there under benitez + hodge.

One thing we can take from it is "something" is happening, broughton is doing something and we may be on the verge of escaping the yanks for good. It's a shame we dont have an ITK working for BarCap - or access to Broughtons email.

There was an interesting point on radio 5 live last night when they were creaming it over gerrard Lawrenson was saying he had lunch with Broughton in Johansburg during the WC - Said that Broughton wanted to move the club back towards an english manager - even with the "evidence" availible - you cant argue against the fact that roy was the best english candidate **availible** but hang on isint this a transfer thread were we talk about transfers???
