Remy is a no brainer for me. Minimal Risk at 8m, he is bedded into the EPL now, has CL experience and is a french interenational. He could play anywhere in the front 3, and he has bags of pace. He is also a very good finisher, and can create or make goals for himself. I would flog off Aspas, bring in Remy, and save the money we were going to spend for an attacking player, and use it for either LB, CB or CM, which are needed far more. Also the comment before about Rafa, loading the squad with Drosss? Rafa always said he wanted to use younger players to fill out the squad, but always said the youth players were just not good enough. It is the main reason he revolutionised the way the Academy works, which we are now seeing the fruits of. Lets just hope Rafa's good work is not undone with the recent ongoings, hopefullly BR finds a way to improve it further.

i disagree with some of what you guys are saying. I would stick with out 4-2-3-1 formation, but swap Suarez and Sterling around, so sterling can keep Shaw occupied all game, be affraid of pushing up to much because of the raw pace from Sterling. I'd also drop Phil and push Henderson up top, with Allen next to Gerrard. This would probably win us the midfield battle, and allow us to bring in Phil once the pace of the game has slowed down a little, and we could potentially use him to open up the game a little more if needed.

Wanted to spark up the conversation, on what people think we need to do tactically to beat Southampton this week. Its going to be an extreamly tough game, one which we could genuinely lose points at. Lets forget about inidividual errors for a second, lets soley concentrate on team selection, and tactics. How high do we defend up the pitch? Do we try and keep the ball? I'll add my two bits by taking into consideration last time we encountered them, and how they defeated us. They play a game where they press very high up the pitch, retain the ball in dangerous positions, and score goals in a similar way we have been doing recently against Everton and Arsenal. If at all possible, I would love it if we could do the reversal upon them. No allowing them to hold the ball for long, but sitting a little deeper than normal, and allowing Sterling and Sturridge to be released on a counter attacking method similar to what we did with Everton in the first half. I would play the same team as our last game, Agger staying in the team because I think he can actually Handle Lambert. Thoughts?

Agree on Teixeira, kid has bags of confidence, didnt look out of place. Alberto and f***ing Aspas have looked more out of place..... We really need to cut out the errors in defence though. Small margins, thats what all the following games will be decided upon.

I think Coutinho has improved his strength and fitness in general over the last 6 months. The kid just needs to be consistant, and to learn how to deal with the different levels of attention he may recieve from game to game. When he plays the way he did against Everton and Arsenal, he is the best AMC in the league.
