  2. Fair play to Palace. Hope it makes a few other teams think they can take points off City, too many give up before kick-off If there's a fire sale at Chelsea, we should definitely be in for Connor Gallagher. Some player

  7. Apparently it's easier for Portuguese speakers to understand Spanish than vice versa. So basically our Brazilian lads have to just let Luis do the talking

  9. If you ignore the bits where he ambles offside, these really are two sensational strikes

  12. Tierney was shocking. Whoever was on VAR was arguably as bad. Referring a check for the Robertson tackle but not the Kane one is inexplicable. And the Jota penalty was nailed on
  13. I'd like to think that in 50 years time, Everton fans are continuing this protest, angrier than ever but at least getting better value for money on their match tickets

  17. At the very least, the player who was nutmegged should have been in the celebrations! It's really one of the most aesthetically satisfying goals I can remember... the way the ball stays so low to the ground yet somehow seems to be rising right at the end. The best comparison I can think of is the Pavard strike against Argentina. Both goals benefitted from beautiful camera angles for watching the flight of the ball This is also great
  18. I saw a stat somewhere that we already have as many goals from midfield as in the whole of last season. I'm too lazy to fact check myself, but it sounds about right so I'll run with it. Gini was a great player for us but I think the midfield definitely looks more potent this season without him in it. The downside is that we're probably a bit more porous, but I much prefer the balance this year. Our biggest issue is that we've been unlucky with injuries again - not just the amount of injuries, but the fact that one area of the team has been badly affected, as happened last year at CB.
  19. Well it worked well today until pogba's horror tackle Hope he recovers quickly
  20. Good performance. Also showing a deft touch on Twitter https://twitter.com/IbrahimaKonate_/status/1452338110310846477?s=20
  21. Or Gerrard's pass to Heskey v Leeds in 2002. The technique to hit those sort of side of the foot passes is unreal
  22. haha I like that their keeper got the highest score in a 5-0 defeat. To be fair, the save from Alexander-Arnold was sensational.
  23. Absolutely superb technique from the director. They'll be teaching that in film school
  24. How heartbreakingly sad. I only knew him through his always wise and thoughtful contributions here. Reading the comments from others, it is obvious how much he meant to those who knew him in person, and what a huge loss this is. My thoughts are with his family. May he rest in peace.
  25. That was tremendous entertainment. We were dreadful in the first half, recovered brilliantly in the second half. A draw seems a fair result, though Mo's goal deserved to win any match. City are probably the best team in the world at present. We need a fit Thiago to start dominating the midfield if we're going to keep up with them
