getting to that point where I no longer care what Owen thinks. If he was coming home it may be different. But I can just envisage him now over the years with his 6/7 Newcastle player of the season awards looking over enviously at our lot with their Premiership medals, Eurpean cup medals etc......

We've nearly the best midfield squad in Europe, if you look at all midfields in squad terms. We've Gerrard, Alonso, Sissoko, Gonzalez, Kewell, Hamann, Zenden (doing a good job before injury), Garcia, Kromkamp and Risse (all 3 can differing team positions. I think you add to that not take away from it and then we'll defo have the best midfield squad in Europe.

Momo indeed did have a huge impact, but lets not forget that Momo isn't the best passer of the ball around. Crouch's first touch and ball control cannot imo be knocked, nor can his awareness and positional play. He is one of the main reasons we could bring midfield into attack more this season than any other, he can hold the ball up until reinforcements we're there to help.

But that's the point. Crouch helped us as a team raise our game to the next level and that's why he's so valuable.

That's fair enough, though I still won't be shocked if Mori is given another season. We're supposed to all ready have 3 signings lined up (2 defenders and a midfielder). If we get a right winger and another striker I can only see one of Cisse and Mori going, and my money is on Cisse.

There well may be no connection. But i was making the point that while all our strikers we're here Crouch was and still is number one choice.
