We played the bones of 60 mins yesterday with 2 injured centre halves. . . yet this has nothing to do with the inability to go out and spend the 12m last week on Turner. No it was the injured players faults for not being able to clear the free-kick while semi-concious

I just don't understand the argument that the other big 4 teams did not spend. We were on the brink last year, and needed to strenghten a little more to get over the finish line and we have failed to do this because the money was not given over. As for the other teams, United won the league last year and were in the european final. They lost 2 players and brought in two, all be it, inferior replacements. Chelsea, had a bounty on the ship last year for half the season and still ended up quiet close in the end, and were seconds away from their 2nd consecutive european final. United were better than us last season and one could argue so were chelsea, so the argument that we all standstill is good, is rubbish. and we will see where Arsenal finish at the end of the season.

Comparing this years points with last years points is pointless really. The league has changed. There are a lot more teams well able to take more points off the big teams this year.

Rafa biggest fan, but that was terrible. Terrible perfomance by the manager which given yesterdays events could have larger impact on the team. I am sure there are not many people, fans, pundits or otherwise, who would have agreed with that team today.

Agree - His interviews, pre and post game have been very good. He emphasizes three things in particular; the club and that it should be top of the table, the team over any one player and Rafa and the backroom team he has built. Each interview is like a replica of the other ones and impressive

Need to clarify position first. I have seen liverpool play in the flesh three times on pre-season tours and saw the players in the flesh at training sessions on them tours. The point about visiting anfield, is yes, to experience the atmosphere on a big day. It is obvious that most on here take offense to that but if I am willing to spend a couple of grand to attend one match, I find it hard to accept jibes about the "real fan".

To be honest, I see where you are coming from, but do not agree with your argument. Firstly, I dont think anfield is the same place on a day when liverpool play united versus lets say a liverpool stoke game. As I said its my first game, and I may be wrong, but having watched liverpool play on tv for 20 years I think I am right. Would you not agree? Secondly, I would say there is a fairly good chance that the team v united will be a "superior" team than the team v stoke. If you are travelling 3,000 miles you want to see the torres's and the gerrard's not the voronin's and the pennant's and that is no knock on them players but just simple logic. would you not agree? Thirdly, I think that if liverpool are going to do well this year it is imperative that maximun points are gained against the top four and that is why I would want to be there that day and not a day when a 3 point should be assured.

As someone who has waited a very long time to make my first trip, stoke hardly whets the appetite when United are there the week before !!!
