Why are WE bringing any negativity at all into the (collective) title win? It's been and will be f***ing brilliant. Why taint it with even minor bitterness toward any player, especially one who contributed to that title win, and let alone what he has done in the past?
I get it, but it's our choice as individuals whether to engage in that or not. It wouldn't be for me, personally. On the day, I wouldn't cheer his name anywhere near as loudly as Bradley or Konate or Endo or Kelleher, any of them, but there's no way I'd scowl, either. That shiny thing that hasn't been lifted, live, in front of us for 35 years would not have happened without Trent. That's a fact.
Once he's gone, then grand, you're like any opposing player who might play at Anfield, and you'll mean nothing. But not while he's here.
