  1. Agree with you totally. For me I enjoyed this far more than the Sky w***fest 3-3 draw in 1994. After we went behind early on we played United off the park - best performance I'd ever seen against them. Still pisses me off that we let them off the hook that day.
  2. My first Man U game in the kop. Came out hating them, up to that point it had been Everton who were the enemy (wanted Man U to win in 85 Cup Final) Nobody told me about the rivalry, I just felt it that day
  3. Perfect opportunity this for the first boycott. Not sure if there are any plans already in action to organise one. Who's up for it?
  4. Won't be going to any cup home games either
  5. Done. Form ripped up and put in the bin - not easy but necessary, especially if there is going to a boycott of a cup game.
  6. The problem with that lineup is that the players from the Dalglish era were all well past their best - Nicol didn't make many more appearances after that I don't think as his legs were gone. The reason he was playing all the old Dalglish players is that none of his own signings had been any good - Stewart, Saunders, Walters, Clough etc
  7. Couldn't agree more. I reckon 1 home game with no fans in the stadium would do the trick.
  8. Right then decision made for me - just ripped up my Auto Cup Ticket form. Who's with me - Post in here if you've done the same
  9. If a boycott of cup matches is going to work people need to not tick the boxes for the auto cup scheme. If there is going to be concerted action it needs to be now before people renew. On a previous thread the Mods locked it saying that these things will be discussed at the SOS EGM but it may be too late by then.
  10. The ambition here is to get the ground completely empty. If a few thousand decide to go so be it but the aim is to get zero attendance. Shoot for the moon and all that... Once people see it working I think it makes boycotts for following games even easier as people's fear on this seems to be if they personally do it and it doesn't catch on then their action hasn't been worth it. There's a leap of faith to take here. Once it looks like there's an appetitie it needs to be properly coordinated and publicised.
  11. Added a poll to see if there's an appetite for cup boycott
  12. Over on RAWK there has been an idea to Boycott cup games next season as part of the strategy to drive out H&G. This starts with the first Europa game which would send out a strong message nice and early - we can then take it game by game from there. It hits them in the pocket and generates awful press for them and could help force through a quicker sale at a more realistic price. What is the feeling here about such a Boycott?
  13. I actually think that Tyler made an effort to balance out Gray last night. There's the Aquilani stuff you mentioned and he also seemed keen to clear up that the Gerrard bust up/wanting to leave rumours were b****x. Of course this was all after we were 1-0 up it's a different story if we had gone one down. Gray just can't hide it can he?
  14. Pity we didn't pick up Nedved at the same time - seem to remember that he was close to signing.
  15. Sometimes though you have to do things out of respect for others. Would we all be pissed off if a couple of clubs refused to wear black armbands for Hillsborough?
  16. 1. Benny 2. Lucas 3. Carra
  17. On what information are transfer stories based where there are no direct quotes from any of the parties involved
  18. Loved the old Radio City, Radio Merseyside and Radio 5 commentaries when Clive Tyldsley, Peter Jones, Alan Green etc were doing them. Got some I recorded at the time on C90 cassette tapes but does anyone know if there's anywhere online to get these? Cheers
  19. Started a thread on this a year or 2 back. I seriously grew up believing that Rush was left footed and only came to realise a couple of years ago that he was actually right footed. If you look back at his goals it's about 50/50 right and left foot. Truly amazing.
  20. I liked Fowler's second hat-trick against Arsenal, the year after his 4 minute one. Right footer outside the box in the first half followed up with a run through on goal and a header in the second half. Ran towards KOP with 3 fingers in the air like it was nothing. Whilst I'm writing I've also remembered his 4 against Middlesborough in 1996/97 to bring up his 100 goals. The last one where he weaved in the box and finished right footed was when he was at the height of his powers for me.
  21. At least Leeds got into debt spending on players
  22. Saw this on the Liverpool Way from a thread about him a while ago. Don't think it was quite his last match but sounds contentious "The one booking he did get by the way was in 1978 at the League Cup Final replay V Forest at OT which was an awful night for LFC - we lost 1-0 with a pen given when Thommo brought O'Hare down 2 yards out side the box, Terry Mac had a goal disallowed for handball when it hit his chest and the evening was capped near the end by Callys booking when he won a challenge in midfield, quite honestly it was debateable whether it was even a foul and yet somehow he got a yellow. Well done Pat Partridge the ref on the night!!"
  23. Top bloke - spent an evening chatting to him last year. Incredibly modest considering what he achieved and his standing Think he also holds the record for the length of time between England caps - 11 years from the world cup in 1966 till he got another couple in 1977. Also booked only once in his entire career. True legend
  24. Versus the Mancs at Anfield in 1985(?) in the Milk Cup. One nil down, came back to win 2-1 with both goals by Molby
