    It has always been mad that people have made out that European refs are better. They are all as bad as each other. He was clueless last night, literally didn't award us one foul in the first half and they are quite a physical side.

    Aye. Luis Garcia was apparently desperate to take one in Istanbul and Rafa was having none of it. Maybe Slot was genuinely confident he'd score, in fact I'm pretty sure he must have been. He was very much in the minority.

    So was Salah but like Gravenberch he's been mostly excellent this season so gets more of a pass. Not had to see why Jones polarises opinion. At his best he looks a lovely footballer with the technique to thrive at the very top but for a lad with his qualities/role he doesn't do enough for me. 3 goals or something in 30 odd games this year, compared to 4 in 20 roughly for Elliott who most people seem to be selling.

    I think - and I may have mentioned this? - that he's absolutely f***ing s***e, but he's a very small part of why we lost that tie. The biggest difference over the two legs to how the rest of the season has gone is how quiet they managed to keep Salah. Agree that he was never, ever scoring that penalty of course.
