  1. Just Reina
  2. Thanks for that, mate.
  3. boohog can you let us have the source for that article? Thanks.
  4. I like that response from SoS. RBS probably wish they hadn't opened a dialogue with the fans.
  5. McManaman by some distance.
  6. Liverpool owners sit together at Anfield for Arsenal game 49 minutes ago LIVERPOOL, England — Liverpool's bickering American co-owners sat together at Anfield on Tuesday for the first time this season as their English football team hosted Arsenal in the Premier League. Tom Hicks and George Gillett Jr. have been at odds over the direction of the club for much of the last two seasons. Tuesday's visit came as a July deadline approaches to refinance the loan that funded their takeover of Liverpool two years ago. Also in the directors' box was Amanda Staveley, who was the chief negotiator for last year's failed takeover bid by Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Staveley negotiated the Abu Dhabi United Group's buyout of Manchester City last year. Hicks and Gillett have been assessing their personal financial situations amid the global economic crisis. Gillett has appointed financial advisers to explore a recapitalization of his assets, which could include the sale of the Montreal Canadiens. And Hicks' company that owns the Texas Rangers and Dallas Stars has defaulted on about US $525 million in loans. http://www.google.com/hostednews/canadianp...0bELtsNlc1K9H_A
  7. Absolutely wonderful news.
  8. Well, I'm certainly not going to castigate the ref. He gave us a penalty, he sent off Marco Matarazzi last season, and was also the official at the Juventus game at Anfield when we won 2-1 in 2005. If we'd had the Belgian at the Chelsea semi last year instead of the Italian, we would have faced Manu in Moscow, and who knows, we would be playing for no7 this year.

Absolutely agree with you. I am really worried about this.
  10. Rafa without a doubt! Yanks out!!

    RAFA +/-

Excellently put, and here's more applause for you. :applause:
  12. I have often wondered how Sir Alex would have coped were he in Rafa's position?
  13. Yeah, that's what I meant. You forgot the roaring fire.
  14. Probably not, for if you know anything about him he doesn't sit at a desk as you put it, he is very much a hands on ruler. Hicks and Gillett are also gnawing their nails I expect?
  15. Since you mentioned Moores and fan in the same sentence, tell me, who was negotiating at the time for DIC? Don't you think Moores would have known Al Ansari was a real fan, a fan that came to matches when he could even though he wasn't based here, a fan who was educated at Liverpool University? Ok, I give in to the Sheikh perhaps not being a true fan, even though he stated he was, but one of his sons is a staunch Liverpool fan. If you are implying Moores was more likely to have sold the club to a fan, why did he sell to the yanks and not to DIC?
  16. I cannot argue with what you say, it makes sense. But perhaps financial sense is not always what a mega entrepreneur is after. If you are a fan of that club and you love that club, why would you want to buy another? But most importantly, where the Sheikh is concerned, these 2 have put his nose out of joint a fair few times and I believe he wants to win everytime. So whilst buying Manchester United may appear commercially sensible, there is more to it than that.
  17. Colin Davies? His fingers need white trainers just like Shakin Stevens.
  18. Why am I not surprised both articles came from that racist extreme right wing rag? Bet you can point a long range lens at most English footballers and you won't find a very different story. Sadly, Pennant is an idiot to himself, but it's not surprising with his background and also being left to ponder why he stupidly did not move when he had the chance. What I'm left to ponder is why Rafa bought him in the first place?

Totally agree with you, Mikey. Some are trying to look too deeply into the situation and coming up with what they want to see. There is no mystery here. We are skint. And it is all to do with the lack of money and nothing else.

    Gareth Barry

Last year's November is this year's August then.
  21. Keane
  22. Anatomically speaking, Rafa's correct. Pepe can be a good distance from the spine, more likely closer to the brain.
  23. Perhaps not as bad as John Terry?

His value has no doubt shot up after tonight's performance, and we are too late anyway: City To Swoop For Arshavin? Manchester City have tabled a ₤10 million bid for Zenit St. Petersburg winger Andrei Arshavin, according to reports. The Zenit squad are currently in north-west England preparing for tonight’s UEFA Cup final clash against Rangers at the City of Manchester Stadium. Arshavin has been a vital cog in the Russian side’s impressive European run, and The Herald has reported that City have offered ₤10 million for the 26-year-old. It is likely that City owner Thaksin Shinawatra is masterminding the approach for the Russia international, given the uncertainty surrounding the managerial position at the club. Current City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson is sure to leave following disputes with Thaksin and an 8-1 thrashing at the hands Middlesbrough on the final day of the season. The former England boss has been linked to coaching posts with both Benfica and the Mexico national team over the past few days, while Luiz Felipe Scolari remains the frontrunner to succeed Eriksson at Eastlands. http://goal.com/en/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=695229
