  1. How on earth is chelsea's turnover 60 million more than ours
  2. The biggestthing for me is I think his methods, ie rotating 4 or 5 players most games mean that you will drop a certain amount of points over a season I have not got the exact stats to hand but when he won the league in spain he lost something like 5 or 6 games and drew a few to. Again, cant remember exactly before anyone goes off on me about being 1 or 2 wins out. The amount of points he dropped, even when winning the league in spain would not have won a league over here. The problem with the premier league is the other top teams are so consistent and play their best teams for most league games so you can not afford to drop to many points and still win it. Probably explains why we seem to do better in europe than the others as well that. As I said yesterday he needs another year or two but he has to change his philosophy slightly IMO and concentrate on the league more, at the expense of the champions league if that is what it takes
  3. ha ha ha Didnt settle in England and it didnt work out but he wasnt a bad signing. Jesus Wept hate to see your definition of a bad signing then
  4. Will Arsene Wenger ever win a European Cup Will Ferguson, despite spending £70 million on a team that was already champions end up trophyless Will, will, will, will etc You can pick holes in anyone if you really want to. yes we have had a few problems this season but I tell yeh what on our day we are a match for anyone and I mean anyone. We could end up winning a European or FA cup this season, no one knows what is going to happen yet we could also end up winning nothing and finishing 5th or 6th We are still a little bit off the top teams over 38 games, we all know that. But I would prefer to wait till the end of the season before I make any judgements. I would also like to see benitez given another summer, possibly two summers being able to buy again in the price range we got torres for so we end up with another three world class players to add to reina, carragher, mascerano, gerrard and torres before I would say he cant win the league. I dont think you can say that for at least another two seasons. It will do everyones head in but we are still very much work in progress, I know its the 4th season but two european cup finals, one with a win and a FA cup win are not bad while we get ourselves sorted for a league title challenge. Two european finals in three years, that is an absolutely astonoshing acheivement and wenger, mourhino and ferguson have not done that. So yes rafa has not challenged for the league but he has given us other things, getting a squad that can challenge over 38 games takes a bit longer than getting a first 11 that can get to european finals regulary and beat anyone on its day regulary I am happy with benitez no matter what divvys like jamie redknapp say, I am also happy with the investment in players since we where bought no matter what any anti-hicks or gillete fan says. I just think its about waiting now and watching it evolve
  5. This has to be the biggest anti-climax in the history of liverpool FC fora...... I was texting everyone saying gillete had sold to DIC etc etc and f'ck all, all the forums lock the topics and delete posts Mad this whole thing, why didnt moores just sell to DIC in the first place the clueless divvy
  6. Whats going on then.... Has he sold to DIC or has the been a steven gerrard like backtrack from the lad who posted it on RAOTL ? Threads are getting locked all over the place, on RAOTL and RAWK.
  7. That post from rawk about interest etc doesnt ring true to me Firstly, how on earth would the poster have got that level of information, he would have to have been told by someone close to the yanks or the bank Secondly, so the yanks, who where looking to sell refinanced meaning there would be a huge interest payment on a loan so that they could get MORE money, seems to me that if I was the buyer this would mean I would offer less money It all gets silly at times like this with people posting as if they are rick parry himself with ridiculous levels of detail they couldnt possibly know
  8. Echo will be interesting today if this is true
  9. Jonnymac is good mates with the new echo sports writer isnt he, bet thats where this has come from
  10. Very, Very suprised heat how well he has adapted but he is still a little bit lightweight at times I like him he will be a good player
  11. I thought babbel was f'ckin great yesterday Yes his final ball sometimes leaves a lot to be desired but that will come He was fast, direct and ran at chelsea over and over again. I think that was his best game for us yesterday I was really, really impressed with him. He should have been kept on as his pace was causing them all kinds of problems on the break Skirtel also looked a good player, I was really impressed with us yesterday to be honest. We have never gone there and bossed a game in the league or cup like we did yesterday. Crouch played well, yes he did miss three good chances but he played well and looked a threat Negatives where - Alonso, what the hell has happened there, kuyt being flogged wide right and the babbel substition, it should have been kuyt off with pennant going wide right
  12. I have been one of kuyts biggest critics but I felt really sorry for him yesterday He is being asked to play in a position that he does not have the capabilities to play in despite being woefully out of form he tries his heart out and actuallt did a couple of good things out wide getting in good positions and putting crosses in The poor lad is being flogged at the minute

    torres

Oh god NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO If he plays kuyt up front on his own one more time I swear I will kill our babies pet goldfish in a fit of rage Kuyt, as well as being woefully out of form and sh'te can not play on his own, at least crouch can play this role, although even he is not perfect for that role either I hope he plays both of them and goes for it a bit after learning his lesson from previous league displays at old trafford, highbury and stamford bridge in 2005, 2006 and 2007
  14. Been reading loads on him this week with it being the anniversary of the munich air crash Me grandad (who was a blue) constantly went on about him when he was alive and how good he was Forget george best he used to always say, duncan edwards was the best all round footballer the world has ever seen. My grandad used to talk about gerrard as the only player who was similar to him in that he could play anywhere and would still be the best player on the pitch. There are very few footballers who have everything but edwards had it, gerrard does as well but edwards was even better than stevie and he was only 21 and would have got better had he not died Anyone ever see him play etc I would be interested to know if he really was as good as what people make out.
  15. No way this will happen, it will ruin the integrity of the league Say two teams are level on points after 38 games and then one draws Derby and the other Spurs Also, there is not a cat in hells chance the cities will want anyone but Utd and Liverpool and maybe arsenal and chelsea. No one will want Wigan v Bolton. Its a stupid idea
  16. Dont understand What do you mean would I like that ? I never said I would, but I bet yeh he buys gillet out, wait and see. I have been thinking this might happen for a week or so now and that comment he made has me intrigued. Prepare for forum meltdown because I think we will have one owner soon and it wont be DIC
  17. "I'm anticipating a more active role in Liverpool. I really don't want to comment any more at this point" I bet hicks buys gillet out.... Wait and see.
  18. I was thinking about this last night, I remember being a 10/11 year old singing that awful runway song with my mates at the Utd-Liverpool games in 1985. That was only 27 years after the actual disaster happened and it turned my mind to Hillsborough. It is the 20th anniversary next year, can you imagine the whole of old trafford singing a hillsborough song in SEVEN years and how awful that would feel. It is to the eternal shame of Liverpool and its fans that song and how many of us sang it and the fact that 10 year olds like me where taught it and sang it laughing like idiots, I for one am deeply ashamed I ever sang it and I will never, ever sing it or stand next to anyone who sings it again
  19. On a positive note If we win Sunday only 8 points off Chelsea with a game in hand (west ham at home) and the following run of games Middlesbrough H Bolton A West Ham H Newcastle H Reading H
  20. I have just emailed jenny.... I have recently read your article on Liverpool owner Tom Hicks. I am a very successful postman who earns over £300 a week when I do overtime. I suppose am typical of liveprool fans, although better looking than most of the others. First, before I deal with your article, If you fancy a date if you every come to Liverpool I will treat you to a frozen pizza and a can of Skol lager, you have not lived untill you have drank Skol Jen. Anyway without waffling on, I have not had a drink of beer since breakfast, we are not all drunks over here in Liverpool you know and we dont all hate Mr Hicks either, some of us admire what he did with weetabix (my favourite cereal with a nice cold beer in the morning). So in response to you asking Liverpool fans to get in line and say aye, I say aye jenny, aye aye
  21. Was it reading away when we played a 3 man strikeforce which was good but then with crouch started on the left bizzarely. I would not be averse to us playing that system with babbel on the left, torres in the middle and someone on the right It would allow us to play gerrard, mascerano and alonso in midfield as well.
  22. http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediaselector/check/p...m=1&nbram=1 Who said this "The last press conference I was talking about wingers and today you see two wingers" Do you see ryan mainly as a winger then ? "Yes he was playing at Ajax on the left side"
  23. I dont expect a world beater, I just expected a quality winger to address a gaping hole in our first team And if he is a prospect and long term investment it was the wrong deal. Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea can invest in kids like that because they already have quality in their first team, we do not, we can not compete for the league title because our first team is not good enough. We need to improve that now When did Liverpool suddenly become a team who can spend £11.5 million on a prospect. Come on eh F'ckin ell lets sort the first team out first eh
  24. tightwad yankee mates Jesus wept
  25. Not really Sub, left wing, out of 16 sat at home or up front in that order are where he has played So I suppose he has played in four different positions for us
