I want to believe that but there also seems to be a number of Liverpool supporters who would quite happily take money from Qatar or Russia as long it meant the club would be more competitive for the next three years. That the money may be the product of an iniquitous system built on the exploitation of the many for the good of the new is an irrelevant detail. In their minds the principles the club (and city) are supposed to be built on matter very little as long as we are winning. Liverpool in my sleep addled mind is, as a club, is one owned for and by the people. The reality is very different and I'm no fan of corporate capitalism but given a choice between the current owners, Abramovich or the Abu Dhabi Group, I'd choose the former.
