  1. he looked like he thought Morientes should have been getting the hook. Rafa probably stuck a pin in the team sheet. nice reception from the crowd though, wait until he scores his 1st goal at Anfield and the roof might come off.
  2. just brought myself to watch their equaliser, i missed it yesterday picking up the kids from school. what a fracking disaster, what were those 2 up to? it gives me the creeps watching it again and again trying to work out what was going through Xabi's head.

  6. i understand the desire for revenge after the loss, but the prospect of playing Man U is not one I would have wished for. they are starting to play better and are scoring goals again. this will be another of those tense, don't make a mistake games, that will be settled by a mistake or a replay. personally, i am not looking forward to this game. games against Man U are almost always nailbiters.

  8. 2 lousy pitches against teams with nothing to lose. we played both games at unusual times of the day. the first game we thought it would be a doddle after we scored and we stopped playing, today we didn't but we never got that killer 3rd goal. our title of European Champions makes us a potential big trophy for any lesser team we play and we will have to live with that for as long as humanly possible.
  9. I lobbed a sarnie at him at half time, just doing my bit.
  10. Reina - 6 was well pi**ed off with the defence for their goal, did Ok Kromkamp - 7 showed neat touches and made a poncy dive, did well Warnock - 4 worst display sine Brum away, the pass back almost killed me Carra - 5 shaky today and his passing was dreadful for any over 5 yards Hyypia - 6 good in the air, poor passing Sissoko - 4 awful, but did well not to get booked for a tackle, just a swan dive Alonso - 6 off night AGAIN, poor first touch Riise - 6 great goal that cost me a beer as I kicked the table Gerrard - 5 started well and looked out of sorts in the 2nd half. Morientes -4 stinker, no idea what he was supposed to be doing. almost a passenger at times Cisse -5 off he runs to the corner for no apparent reason and when he gets there he attempts to cross the ball to anything other than a red shirt. Subs- none of them had a chance to get a score. Ref- did well and gave out cards early to dissuade Pompey from kicking us into oblivion. home fans- neanderthal away fans- hard to hear over the noise playing surface- looked like a cross between glue and sand. to sum up- we won, that's about it.
  11. I watched the game with a few American lads. They compared Cisse to an 8 yo when he ran with the ball, lots of pace and virtually no idea what do with the ball. Morientes looked at least a yard off the pace of the game for all the time he was on the pitch. Even with his apparent Mr Blobby physique, owler may have more chance of getting more involved than Morientes or Cisse. On Wednesday, we should start FSP and Crouch with Fowler on the bench. Let Cisse have a night off.
  12. just back from the match myself, well it was an afternoon at the bar and then off to watch some indoor footy. poor game, poor pitch, lousy oposition who seemed intent on kicking us off the pitch at times. nicely taken PK, nice goal by Riise and a decent full game debut for Cruzcampo. Morientes was awful, Cisse was wasteful, the midfield looked like they had never met before today and apart from Hyppia and Cruzcampo, the defence was wobbly at times. on the plus side, we won and got no major injuries, we only had 1 booking and a few players got a rest. unfortuneately, the bar was still full of Manc fans for most of the first half and they took great delight in reminding me of last week's score. I took delight in a rendition of 5 times as they finally beggared off. i was a bit disappointed that i did not get my Xabi Alonso super goal.
  13. the bitters fans looked distraught at the end of the game as they realised their last chance of doing anything just went up in smoke. the bitters just let Chelsea have the ball for about 80% of the 2nd half and sat back letting them attack them. why? they did not have the class at the back or in midfield to battle Chelsea, Gollum makes another ballacks of a decision.
  14. I am not upset by this news in any way. I was absolutely stunned that it actually happened as what appeared to be another internet inspired rumor actually came true. It's a bit early to have a drink, maybe later. If he is the 2nd coming, I will eat my words. Someone on RAWK says Heskey is waiting by the phone, hopefully and anxiously.
  15. it's only 12.45pm and I am not tired.
  16. exactly, what were people posting here on Friday and Saturday? 2-0 to us, someone said 4-0 to us. almost everyone expecting a win because Man U appear to be on the slide. take a look at the table. regardless of how "declined" they are, they are still 2nd in the league, in the semis of one cup and the next round of the other. the only thing they are out of is the CL. not bad for a "declining" team. we rarely do well at Old Trafford, no matter how good or bad either team appears to be at the time. the game is a local derby and form goes out of the window. we played as we usually do at Old Trafford, cautiously and tentatively, and we got what we so often get, nothing. still, it's only 1 game, only our 3rd loss and we have 2 games in hand over them. i am confident we will get 2nd place ahead of them and that we will not take that kind of approach at too many more away games this season.

  18. exactly, only our 3rd loss, we still have 2 games in hand on them and 3 points/2 games on Spurs and 7 points/1 game on Arsenal. The manager will learn alot about his team from this loss and he will do something about it.
  19. according to Skysports.com, our next game is away to FBK Kaunas in a CL qualifier on Thursday at 7.45pm Sky Sports
  20. sad we lost, but not gutted funnily enough. the great run had to end sometime and it's a pity it ended at the theatre of prawns. however, it is jan 22nd and this is only our 3rd loss of the season. we have a week to prepare for the FA Cup tie and Rafa will be looking at new faces up front. poor game by both sides, a draw was a fair result, but one moment of carelessness cost us the game. the lads will put it behind them and get set for the next game.
