  1. not scoring goals is our major problem, not taking the chances we get is our major problem. if we score early, the other team has to attack us and we can get a 2nd, for example-Portsmouth in the cup. if we take our chances, the pressure is taken off the defence and they can play their normal game instead of the nervy desperate defending we have seen in some games. get some bloody goals and the rest of the game will take care of itself.
  2. I spent part of last night, whilst watching the Superbowl, explaining my utter and complete hatred for Man U, Chavski and the Bitters to a few American friends and neighbors. Most of these guys are College Football followers and have similar hatred towards their rival teams and clearly understood how I feel. However, although I hate Chelsea with a passion, I do have limited admiration for the way they approach every game. They bully, cheat and con the refs in every way possible and win at any cost. it is not the best thing to watch, but they get the job done. I should add that my hatred of Chavski us a fairly new thing. In the 70's they were just a bunch of poncing nancy boys and hardly a worthy threat to anyone.
  3. no way we can put Garcia on this list. he is our ace in the hole, the X factor. you never know when he is going to pop up with a vital, or a breathtaking, goal. he is possibly the only player we have like that.
  4. he is young enough to learn and has a great teacher in Rafa Benitez. he needs time, but that is in short supply when you play for a club like Liverpool.
  5. any word on a possible appeal to the red card?
  6. There is a fairly long list. Warnock, Traore, Riise, Morientes, Cisse and Crouch. We desperately need a reliable left back and forwards with strength, power and passion. Morientes and Crouch are nice guys, but neither are tough enough for the PL, nor do they apear to be willing to mix it up with defenders. Since Carragher stopped playing at left back, we have never found the right answer to that position.
  7. I don't think he is too cautious, he puts out a team that he feels is strong enough to do the job he wants them to do. As a manager, you can only ask the players to do the things you want them to do, you cannot make allowances for poor marking, missed tackles and w***** referees. we have to remember that Chelsea and Man U are 1st and 2nd in the league and that losing to them is not the end of the world. I was more concerned about the Brum game and that loss of 2 points as I was not surprised to see us lose today because they are a better team than us at the moment.
  8. you're a real ray of sunshine today!!! look at it another way, instead of being scheidt in November, we are having our little blip right now. we have played the Chavs and the Mancs and got 1 point out of 12, we need to go out and make up the difference against the likes of Wigan, Charlton and Arsenal. no problem whatsoever.
  9. with Morientes, Crouch and Cisse we have forwards and not strikers. The only striker we have right now is Fowler and he is a few games away from making a worthwhile contribution. we have goalscores in Garcia, Kewell and Gerrard but they are being marked out of the game to prevent them from getting into the box. our 3 forwards can be handled relatively easily if our midfield is kept from getting forward and it is up to the forward players to move about and create space and chances for the supporting players. we have been very predicatable in the past few games and the manager has to find a way of changing our style of play to make us more of a threat.
  10. The difference between the two sides is the same as all the games they have played against us, except the semi final. They are more intelligent on the ball, work harder at pressing players all across the park, and have that English Champions vital ingredients, they don?t give a f*** what anyone thinks about them. Lose the ball go down and claim the foul, push and pull the opponents when ever you are close enough, just do it on the blind side of the ref. Make sure there are enough verbals around fouls to influence the liners and ref, never give a free kick away without a verbal protest, they do this as a team, backing up the arguing player so the ref feels intmidated. Now and again one of them takes the initiative in their own hands and makes sure the odds are lessened by reducing the number of players they have to play against. Man. U Arsenal Blackburn and Leeds the last 4 title winners before Chelsea all had these ? attributes? Liverpool are too soft to be proper contenders. We have players sent off for losing their cool, champions have them sent off for making sure they win important games. absolutely spot on. they get away with it and they will continue to do so until the refs get wise to these tactics and do something about it. it is not in the rules, but it is part of the game. we can take the high road and say we would not want Liverpool players to stoop to these tactics, but would we be so smug if we were winning the league playing the way Chelsea do?

  12. the Barca game is clear as a bell. the only problem with those pay sites is that they tend to disappear very quickly.
  13. 10 minutes left and they are losing 3-1 at home to Atletico Madrid. Thier defence is worse than ours.

    Reina

that has to be appealed. If only for the fact that it will bring the play acting of the drama queens into question and maybe the handball that should have been called prior to the tackle. at the end of the day though, we will get no assistance from the FA and we will lose Reina for 3 games.
  15. The officials were garbage. Every Chav foul or bad challenge is hardly called yet everything we did got penalised. These refs are clueless when it comes to seeing the awful challenges made by Chelsea players. Our whole team was woeful today. From keeper to forwards we failed to give it our best in a agme we could not afford to lose and really had to win after the other results this weekend. 5 games coming up that will make or break our season. In reality, we can not afford to lose any of them.
  16. I am not gutted, just saddened that we have failed to get anything from both teams above us in the league. Our absolute lack of any attacking play is extremely worrying. Crouch, Cisse and Morientes are pretty weak at the moment and have hardly looked threatening in recent games. The Chavs seem to get away with murder, just like the Mancs used to , and still do from time to time. Best to forget about this and hope for better things in our next game. 9 points from our next 3 games is absolutely vital
  17. Rafa getting annoyed with the 4th official. he should save it for the dressing room and the trip back to Liverpool. We are struggling mightily at the moment.
  18. how the f*** did the linesman miss the handball by the Chav b'stard? Reina made a stupid challenge though, but it was never a red card. we have to appeal that and get it reduced to a yellow.
  19. no need for comments like that. he is a Liverpool player. no matter what we still support ALL the players.
  20. Garcia booked for getting the ball. The ref is a total wnaker.
  21. Garcia is just coming on on my PC!!
  22. stop whinging or I'll give you my story about the bad old days before FSW/FSC.
  23. we will all have to get online and watch it on dodgy Chinese TV. i don't mind paying $20 for the Manc game, but I am not paying $20 for the Chelski game. The local bar/pub is not open for the game this Sunday as they are preparing the place for the Super Bowl later in the day. I asked the manager if he would open for the Manc game and he just laughed when I told him the kick off time.

  25. true, we lost no ground despite dropping the 2 points ,got closer to Man U and pulled away from Spurs and Arsenal. but you always say "what if?" don't you?
