I'd agree with you on pretty much every other striker than Morientes If you look at his career stats, he has scored more than half his goals with his head. Earlier in his career he scored 4 goals in a match and ALL of them were with his head. If we don't play to his strengths- and with Zenden and Garcia we don't seem to be- he won't score as many. It's as simple as that. On top of this, if he isn't scoring HALF as many goals as he can, his confidence will go down and goals he SHOULD be scoring with his feet he maybe will not. He is also being told in most games to play in a way that he hasn't done for a couple of years, as a main striker -not a second striker, as he did with Monaco- and this too will take some getting used to. Saying all that, I still don't think he'll score any more than 10 goals in the League this season at best, but if he can get as many assists as his previous record suggests, he'll be well worth his place.

I actually am unsure about whether i want Owen back or not. One reason being that Rafa obviously likes 4-5-1 - Owen doesnt fit into that. Secondly, one problem with Houllier was he was very sentimental and i dont think Benitez is, he's very ruthless and has his own ideas - i think a return for Owen would undermine some of this Benitez quality. On the other hand, hes a terrific player who scores goals..albiet dictating your style of play (although not at Madrid). Also if it meant Cisse was to be sold, im against that as there arent many who have his spark and potential. :S

I've ALWAYS said Mexes was overrated, when everyone wanted to get him, i was against it. He was all hype. Every time ive seen him hes been a woe kitten.

I think he started off as a RB then developed into a RM. I'd say he was the Spanish league version of SWP, even though hes Brazilian i think, and extremely highly rated at that - hence the Milan, Barca, Madrid, Juve etc. Seen him play quite a few times, cracking little player. I got over-excited when the lad was going on about him as if he was sure he'd sign. Must just have heard something and going over board - would love to see him at LFC though.

Rumour i heard today - some other Liverpool season ticket holder in my college - telling me that he's gonna sign in the summer if we get into the Champions League. I kept asking how did he know. But he kept replying with "I just know lad. Trust me". Which got extremely tedious and annoying. I'm not so sure, i'm not sure if he randomly spouted it or if theres any substance in it.
