  1. No. But a hedge fund is surely the far lesser of two evils? It doesn’t make me lose my connection to the club. I feel like a sportswashing project would. If it wouldn’t to you, that’s sound. Maybe my position is hypocritical but it feels fairly logical. FSG aren’t good owners but they’re not a country persecuting gay people.
  2. I’d rather get left behind than sell our souls to be honest. I am proud to support the club right now, even when we’re s***e. I wouldn’t be proud to support a sportswashing project even if it meant we won five titles in a row. as mad as that sounds.
  3. I predict that if the club isn’t sold, it’ll be Trent - rather than Salah - who is sold to raise funds for strengthening elsewhere. Not saying I want that, it’s just what I see happening. Don’t think he’s happy at the moment and only two years left on his contract come the summer.
  4. Nice if Darwin can “announce” himself tomorrow. I’d start Bajcetic too. Tbh I’d start him every game for the rest of the season though
  5. Klopp said that we’ve been spoiled to have qualified for the CL “early” in most previous years. Which is true. Other than a couple it’s not even been a scrap. He’s 100% right. He’d also be 100% right if he said we’d been spoiled as a fan base full stop, but he didn’t say that.
  6. Why would Dortmund agree to this?
  7. Errrr… no.
  8. If he comes it’ll be because a) Klopp and b) it meaning more to win a trophy with Liverpool than it does City. Does b) disappear if we get taken over by eg a Dubai? A wider more existential question of course.
  9. Hahaha. I’m glad I can mentally put that one to bed to be honest.
  10. Not how I remember it. Feel like we signed them after their performances at the WC and then pretended it was planned for a long time to not look reactionary.
  11. It was f***ing grim commentary that. As well as “Key-ta” they were calling Thiago “Thee-ago” (th like thief), Tsimikas by his first name and Doak “Do-ak”
  12. It’s a video game that rewards you for being cruel to people in the most insincere, self-righteous and/or humorous way possible. Twitters bad and all.
  13. People will be back. Twitter is a hellscape, Reddit is too impersonal - and people are realising it, it’ll come full circle.
  14. If fee is the only barrier then we’ll get him, or FSG will risk their legacy as being absolute hate figures. It’s incredibly exciting that we’re even talking about Bellingham coming here, and testament to everything Klopp has done for us. I never thought there’d be another Gerrard for as long as I lived but we’re literally about to sign him.
  15. Doesn’t mean it isn’t contingent on how we finish.
  16. So do I. If we get top four. Doubt he’d come, nor that the owners would fund it, if we didn’t get CL. I don’t think he’d be that arsed with playing in the Europa per se, I just think it’d say a lot about where we are as a team (on a downward curve) and he’d just go to City. No pressure like.
  17. Agree Doak looked electric. His close control is… well, I won’t say it. Bajcetic was decent, but nothing more IMO. Ramsay looks a player. Thought Clark had a few flashes but didn’t get involved enough. Wasn’t impressed with Stewart or Frauendorf.
  18. I think this will take quite a while, several months at least, so my immediate hope is that FSG at least put up SOME money for team investment in the interim. They may even be tempted to spend more than they usually would given a) we’re currently s***e, and b) they need to protect the value of the asset and would stand to make far more than they’d lose from a few additional transfers. The only thing they can’t do is let us go to s***e, really.
  19. The Mike Ashley Method
  20. From 2015
  21. You’ve always wanted heroes in the boardroom, so I really hope whoever comes next meets your expectations.
  22. This time next year we’ll be without Ox, Keita and Milner at a minimum. Unless someone like Bajcetic really kicks on, or Jones decides to improve dramatically, we’re going to need three midfielders in the January/Summer 2023 transfer window. That can’t be good planning, can it? It feels like the kind of thing the club would take pride in NOT doing. We can barely find one that fits our massively high bar quality wise, so I’m really not sure how we’ll sign 3. Or even 2.
  23. He’s like Thiago but about 40% as good. Slow. I’d rather wait.
  24. Apparently he’s going to van de Beek’s wedding, as is Depay.
  25. Honestly think this is the one thing I can absolutely rule out happening.
