  1. I was thinking that after the game yesterday. Hopefully he continues at this level, and if he does, we have some player on our hands.
  2. I wonder if there is an agrument for starting with Bradley at right back and Trent in midfield instead of Szoboszlai, who has not been great in the weeks prior to his injury.
  3. Agreed, but there do not seem to be too many options of experienced managers at the level required. Whilst both Alonso and De Zerbi appear to be intelligent, innovative and tactically astute, Alonso, as opposed to De Zerbi, has the advantage of having played at the highest level, which should give him the advantage in managing a club with high expectations.

Agreed. Should have been sorted out ages ago. What the feck has Schmadtke been doing since the summer transfer window shut? FSG need to appoint a new Director of Football ASAP, and the top of his to do list should be renewing Trent and Virgil. Appointing a manager too, but I assume that is pretty much done and dusted.
  5. Amorim is a very worthwhile option. As is Emery, although his time at Arsenal worries me, even bearing in mind it was a pretty toxic place after Wenger left. The standout candidate, however, is Alonso, and I would be stunned if he not number one on the club's list.
  6. Where did you read this? Hopefully true.
  7. Alonso obviously the stand out candidate, and rightly so. I'd very surprised if it's not him. After him on the list should be De Zerbi and Amorim. Postecoglou I really like, but I don't see him leaving Spurs after just one season.
  8. Hahaha, that's a glorious foul to be fair.
  9. He was brilliant was he joined them, one of the main reasons they moved up the table and then qualified for the CL the following season. So far this season, however, he was been very unconvincing.
  10. Alonso is doing a fantastic job so far, but Jurgen is special, very special. We will miss him greatly when he goes, but hopefully that wont be for a few years yet.
  11. Very solid defensive display by Bradley. Martinelli managed to get past Trent a couple of time after he came on. He tried the same with Bradley, who was having none of it. Nice to have options in the bench when Trent needs a rest or is moved to midfield.
  12. Grizz Khan is full of it. It is the old adage: throw enough sh@t at the wall, some of it is bound to stick.
  13. I think a season and half into his Liverpool career, if it hasn't happened yet, it is unlikely to ever happen. Darwin will continue to be a nuisance, will score goals, but will never be an accomplished finisher and will miss plenty. Happy to be proven wrong.
  14. I expect Newcastle to sit back and make it hard for us to break them down. Basically what Man United did a couple of weeks ago.
  15. Zidane probably waiting on the French national team.
  16. No, he isn't. Hard to know really how good Potter is. I really rated him during his Brighton days, but there is a big question mark around how much their success was down to him or whether it was down to the excellent structure they have there.
  17. Potter? Haven't heard about that. Forgot about Zidane, that is a good shout. Flick's stock, on the other hard, is probably a lot lower at the moment.
  18. The most worrying thing for them is that there appears to be no world class manager they can they replace Ten Hag with. Perhaps Tuchel in the summer after he falls out with everyone at Bayern and they bring Alonso in to replace him.
  19. Definitely, although Jurgen is pretty stubborn so I'll not be surprised if he tries to make do with what he has.
  20. Any idea when he should be back?
  21. Palhinha would be perfect for us. Can cover CB as well.
  22. Definitely have to try to get a CB in early January. Quansah is obviously talented but is still young and inexperienced, Konate and Gomez cannot be relied upon fitness wise, and we cannot run Virgil into the ground if we want him playing at his current level for a few more years to come. Whilst City are still favourites, the title race is wide open at the moment, and lack of CB cover could hurt us.
  23. Punishing the Ev this season - with several teams performing at a level significantly lower than them - is essentially not punishing them at all, as they unlikely to go down even with the points deduction. So basically the Premier League can pat themselves on the back for being firm, but in reality will not risk facing backlash from the club punished since the points reduction will have no significant bearing on the final standings. They'll then try to do something similar with Chelsea and especially Man City.
  24. That sounds lovely to be honest. Re Grizz Khan, as the old saying goes - you throw enough s**t at the wall, some is bound to stick. Re Director of Football, club should be getting someone permanent in asap, be it Eberl or someone else.
