I think hes playing in a way that he thinks is best for the team at the time. I may of course be totally wrong. Im convinced he tries to do too much to the detriment of the team performance in some games though. Lack of confidence in his players, lack of confidence in his manager, or just pressure as a captain to try and do it all himself? Who knows.

I think its a bit of both to be honest. The point rafa tried to make after the everton game but eneded up being lambasted for about gerrard sometimes trying too hard is very valid. Sometimes he goes into superman mode and tries to do too much. In that game, i felt he was trying to contain uniteds attacking force all on his own. Whilst its not what i would want most from a captain, he comes across like he feels responsible to do everything, sometimes bypassing other players to do it on his own. Resulting sometimes in the sulks. But, mabey it was rafa telling him to do that, who knows eh. Thats the problem, we dont know whos telling who to do what. I mean i doubt rafa is telling kuyt to play like jason lee

Unfortunatly yes, which is why we are stuck with him as captain. I think playing him at cm earlier in the saeson wasnt a bad thing to do, sissoko was all over the place, xabi was injured for long spells and lucas was a new youngster. Add to that that pennnant untill his injury was playing really well and there wasnt any worry about him playing cm. The problems started when agger got injured, and the shape of the team had to change to cover for hypias lack of pace. I have never seen gerrard try to play as deep as he has in the last few months, against man utd he hardly got out of our half.

Gerrard is the best player in the world when in a free role and on form. Weather that means starting on the right or off the striker or what, thats his best position. Not centre midfield. He does sulk alot yes (what top players dont?), and i wouldnt have him as captain myself (2 or 3 players who would perform far better as a captain than him imo), but being the best player in the world, we would be a worse team without him.

when did rafa last take/get any credit for the team playing well and winning? I dont remember, infact, i remember us playing arlight and winning at goodison and rafa got slated for substituting a player, a substitution that went on to win the game.

im not on about this game, im on about the club in general. We are a joke and will never compete with any of the top level teams in the transfer market. Sad but true at the moment. As for this game, yes, id say rafa should take the blame, along with every player on the pitch , they have been wowfull and a managers tactics shouldnt dictate wether the players will give the ball away or be unable to control the ball. unless its "right boys, get out there and fail to control the ball and give it away", which i doubt.

No, im trying to do my best to see the state the club is in. And prepare myself for the summer of transfer activity in which we are linked with some top quality players, but end up getting outbid by united, chelsea, etc and buying 3rd rate cheaper players instead.
