McManaman is a blert but I don't really feel anything about that move now, I was pretty young when it happened and I now understand his reasons - being low-balled by the club, trying to flog him to Barcelona, his mum dying etc. I was quite relieved when Coutinho went, the noise around it was really starting to do my head in, plus it has proven it to be one of the best bits of business in our history. Torres really stung - he went to the worst possible team and we were at such a low ebb. The fact that he was largely crap for them is immaterial - he's a rat and it bugs me that the club have, to a degree, tried to rehabilitate his reputation. I was gutted about Alonso, Mascherano and Suarez but don't really feel any animosity toward them.

Same, I think by the time we'd got used to McManaman going he had been largely forgiven and his subsequent success in Spain just proved his point. Owen behaved like a weird child and he still won't cop for it to this day.

Even though I was very annoyed at the time (and he is a dreadful pundit), I now completely understand why Mcmanaman left. Owen can get to f*ck and Trent can join him if he goes.
