I was watching the game with a lad I just met, who was a barca fan, and who seemed pretty sound at first. When Origi scored he claimed it was cheating and shouldn't have been allowed, and spent the rest of the game smacking the table with his fist.

As promising as de Ligt is, my worry is what this does to Joe's development. He looked absolutely incredible before his injury and looked to be becoming one of the best CBs around. Really dont like seeing him at RB - just not his position, so hopefully that's not the thinking here - add another CB and have Joe covering CB/RB. We already have the best defense in the world (feels nice saying that!), but we do need cover for Trent and Andy. A pacy reliable wing back, a Fekir type, and a young striker who is boss off the bench and we are set for years. Quite fun being brilliant again.

Planned to watch it at Carragher’s bar in midtown NYC, but it’s sold out (had no idea they were charging a cover of 30 bucks -the semi was free and was busy but not crazy). Now off to a pizza place that is screening it. Had a shocker of a morning so hopefully have gotten all the bad vibes out the way. Come on you reds!

It be f***ing s*** losing to Spurs in the final. But I'm sick of always worrying about losing. I had very little belief we would beat Barca and had already accepted the loss. Couldn't really get into the excitement before the game as a result. It was a CL semi and I should have been dreaming of somehow beating them. I'm going to keep riding the high from last night, and say b******s to any fear of them. We can easily beat them, and we should. Let them do the worrying.

Lost my voice and real pleased I did as I've not quite felt that level of joy probably since 05. Watched it with an old flatmate from years ago, who later drunkenly admitted he received a pretty sizable sum of money because the now jailed landlord was overcharging us. Aside from the feeling that he was trying to get one over on me and not pay up, whatever I get out of it will be severely appreciated, especially as I'm out of a job right now.
