This is spot on. Protesting against transfers at this stage of the close season is nonsense - we don't know what's to come. Furthermore, as has been pointed out, free or cheap transfers do not necessarily mean bad signings anymore than expensive signings are guaranteed to be successful. As for the club milking us - well yes, ticket prices have gone up. But it's the same throughout football and, much as we complain, we're actually fleeced less than many others. It's also true to say that few clubs are actually raking it in. What we all forget when we're chanting the names of our heroes is that they, and their greedy agents, have been walking away with the bulk of the vast riches that have been pouring into football. Personally I don't begrudge the likes of Carra, Stevie and Torres their fortunes. But before you direct all your anger at G+H over price rises, don't forget that your hard-earned cash is going to line the pockets of the likes of Voronin and Kewell. It's also harsh to complain about price rises and failure to spend big money in the same sentance - as long as football remains a business you can't do both. Unfortunately we can't, as a club, do anything about it alone. The game as a whole has to tackle the issue because the current match going fan-base is aging and the traditional support is being priced out of the game. What we do have to complain to G+H about is being lied to, the club's name being dragged through the mud by airing our dirty linen in public, our club being lumbered with what amounts to somebody else's personal debt and the failure to start work on the new stadium. These are all issues G+H can do something about so let's keep the protest focussed
