  3. They're still trying to flog the more expensive seat plus food packages. Wonder what they'll do with the seats if they remain unsold? Leave them empty or wake up to the fact that the fan base doesn't have an endless supply of cash?

  6. I did the same with The Sheffield Star (the Echo equivalent). The reaction in the public comments section of the inquest reports was mixed. Sadly there were a significant number still sticking to the lies. Having said that, the quality in the comments sections in The Echo doesn't always point to an intelligent bunch of subscribers.
  7. They could have started with the season ticket allocation first. The club claim that they've made every effort to offer a seat within a comparable location to our current seats but they clearly have not. The Corporates were allowed to pick their seats weeks ago which probably left too few available to allow people to remain in roughly the same location. I suspect those in the Paddock area have been least affected but many of those further back in the current Main Stand will be facing a significant move.
  8. Well that was a tad stressful. I attempted to login in at 10 am on the dot but the ST ticket selection remained closed for a while so I guess their server clock time was a bit slow. When it finally opened I was stuck in a queue for a minute (which I hadn't expected). After spending so long looking at the seat selection on the 360 degree view, it's was bit confusing that they present the seat selection in a different orientation (with the pitch at the top of the screen). The seats in the more central section (L7) went very quickly. There were still some available when I logged in but despite selecting quickly, the seats I'd wanted had become unavailable by the time I pressed "Buy". When I returned to Block L7 for selection a second time, no seats were available in L7. I tried L8 next and this time allowed the system to "select the best seats available". But I didn't like the choices presented, so I went back to pick manually and got better seats i.e. don't trust the system! Somehow in the middle of switching from "best seats available" to manually picking, I ended up on a page that was selling tickets for matches and with no obvious way back to the seat migration page. I gambled on using the Back button and thankfully it worked. We've ended up slightly closer to The Kop and about 10 rows forward of our current seats which is okay. But I think a lot of people are going to be very unhappy. Anyone unable to access a computer around 10 o'clock will probably end up at the extreme end of the Upper Tier albeit with a fine view of the pigeon droppings on The Kop roof. Meanwhile, from next season, the Corporate customers will be occupying their old position - that's if the "suits" can tear themselves away from the bar.

  10. Does anyone know where the Press Box is in the new Main Stand? I have a recollection of ST holders being thrown out of their seats as UEFA demanded more facilities over the years. Hopefully the new Press Box is big enough to cope with future demand but it would annoying to pick a seat close to the Press Box and then find yourself being moved again.
  11. Did you log on immediately the window opened? Do they check if the seat is still available as you select it or do they wait until you've confirmed that you want it (or them if you're picking for friends and family)?
  12. Do they present you with suggested seats or do you pick them from the layout as presented on the 360 view. Were you looking for just one seat or several via linked accounts? Any trouble logging on?
  13. Don't think the present incumbents will be the problem. The club will be keen to flog Main Stand seats to those who are prepared to pay a couple of grand extra for a "free" burger, "free" coffee and "free" programme.
  14. I've just be on the official site and you can put in your name and member number and it tells you when you will be offered the chance to pick. Looking at the associated selection dates it looks like I'll have the option of a seat in the Lower Main Stand. I can't understand why they don't give us a roughly like-for-like location and save the land grab and ensuing stress on the web site and the ST holder
  15. The Official Site says "that most Season Ticket Holders currently sat within the Main Stand / Paddock will be offered a seat comparable to the location of the seat they currently occupy, unfortunately there are a number of seats that due to the configuration of the stand will be no longer be available; however these supporters are guaranteed a seat." I had interpreted that as saying most of us would be staying in roughly the same area. But I bet when this was written they were expecting to fleece us for £77 a game. The idea of a "land grab" is appalling as is the lack of notice. Some people may be on holiday this week and not know or in meetings on Friday. It's a ridiculous way to treat long standing customers
  16. SL is suggesting that we're being moved to the third tier. Why should we be moved at all? Surely they should, as far as possible, just leave everyone in roughly the same spot? Or are they going to make our current seats part of the expensive packages (thereby increasing the seat price "unnoticed") and shift us to the more restricted views because the protest has prevented them from fleecing us to stay put? I also don't understand how they're going to co-ordinate the choice. Allocate a small block of seats and have a first-come-first-served fight? I have a bad feeling about this
  17. Why Friday? I've not heard anything
  18. Not sure how this is going to work. I'd like to think we have first call on what is roughly the same seat. I'm part of a large group that's sat together for decades and we want to stay in the same position if possible. It's a few weeks before the next home game and we're not all in contact with each other away from Anfield so I hope they give us plenty of time to chat amongst ourselves if there's a possibility that we'll be shifted. It shouldn't be necessary but I gather that the Corporates were allowed to pick their seats weeks ago so they may have already taken what has been ours.

Worse than Istvan Kozma, Julian Dicks, Paul Stewart, Jimmy Carter, Phil Babb, Barry Venison, Torben Piechnik, Stan Collymore etc?

We've been overpaying and recruiting average players for the last 30 years. It's why it all started to go downhill at the start of the nineties.
  21. Given the way we've been defending, I very much doubt it affected the result. But even if the lack of support cost the team, isn't that just proving how much traditional fans are needed? I never normally walk out before the final whistle, but it was an absolute privilege to be part of it today.

I agree. The game could have reached an exciting and critical stage at 77 minutes and people will not walk out. Any protest needs to be achievable and noticable. Longer term protests that hit the pocket of the owners might also be a good idea. How about one or any of the following? 1) A 5 minute silence from the time the players walk out until kick off - including through YNWA. 2) Protest banners only on the Kop 3) More protest chants 4) Boycott of all club merchandise, eateries, programmes 5) Don't sign up to the auto cup scheme. Attendance credits will be a thing of the past once the level of corporates goes up. That gives us the freedom to boycott those hard-to-sell games e.g. early rounds of the League Cup (4) can be extended via social media to beyond the match attendees We absolutely must be united on this. Those match goes who feel they've come out of this okay are deluded. The club are trying to buy your inaction whilst dumping big time on others. Your day will come too because likely as not they will repeat this, one stand at a time.

However, don't forget to enjoy Wembley while you can because all of those extra corporate seats will be expecting priority for cup final tickets in the future. I'm not surprised by this. The cost of Main Stand seats has been increasing at a greater rate for years due to them apparently being "the best seats" - if you ignore the Victorian facilities and restricted views that is. I think the club are hoping that regular season ticket holders will move out so that the entire stand can be turned into corporate seats. Given the TV money, extra seats and no doubt naming rights, the club did not need to do this to existing Main Stand ST holders and the increase is a kick in the teeth for a lot of people who have been turning up for years week in week out. I don't want to move seat so I shall probably cough up the extra but won't bother now with the cup games. If they can sell my seat for a midweek League Cup game against Second Division opposition, good luck to them. I've already given up buying programmes and have no intention of frequenting any new eating facilities. The club shop can also whistle for any future business.

  25. The dining facilities in the Main Stand have been demolished so pre-match food and drinks are served in a marquee. Everyone is given a "goody bag" in lieu of a half time cup of tea and sarnies.
