This just sums up the state Rodgers has got us in, no aggression, no urgency or tempo, no real idea. Totally rudderless. Can't imagine Coutinho will fancy sticking around and bring a part of this mess for too long.

In terms of mentality, not seeing a huge improvement from Old Trafford, we're playing deep and sitting back without a real press. When we do get it and go forward, we hardly have any white shirts in their half. Some 'European expert' on the radio earlier today reckoned it was sold out.
That Damian guy from Poland has tweeted: @DamianLFCpl: Projected starters: Mignolet Gomez, Toure, Sakho Ibe (wing back), Rossiter, Emre Can, Moreno (wing back) Lallana, Coutinho Origi If his team turns out to be correct, I'll be most unimpressed.
I'd pick a strong side, get the points on the board early as possible and then hopefully rest players in the later Europa group games, when we've got tougher league fixtures coming & when the Europa aways are further afield.
He had a minor thigh strain during the international break, from training with Belgium. He didn't take part in all of their qualification minutes and wasn't 100% at Old Trafford either.
See, this is the thing, even though we've lost top players in recent years and not replaced them sufficiently, that's still a side with good players who can be effective and hurt the opposition, if only they're utilised properly and put in the right positions. It's so obvious, why the f*** can't he just do it?
I can't recall seeing such a dire situation, with a fanbase almost unanimously wanting the same decision to be made, and with such an obvious standout candidate available, almost begging for the job. It's so f*cking obvious, just give him the job.
Net spend wasn't much to write home about but if a new manager comes in and decides most of the new/recent signings aren't what he wants, they'd most likely be sold on at a loss, meaning FSG are taking a fairly sizeable collective hit.
Balotelli was decent but not anything better than he was for us in that Spurs game early last season. He gives it a go on his debut, then it falls away. He come off the bench for Milan at 1-0 down and the game ended 1-0. He had a few moments that had potential to make an impact but ultimately, he didn't affect the result.
Although I agree with you, I'm not sure that's the point though. Having backed him in the summer & let him sign his targets, there's a decent likelihood that a new manager may not fancy those players & seek to move them on. Freebies aside, players he moves on are unlikely to recoup what was paid for them, therefore the owners end up taking a financial hit & simultaneously needing to help bankroll the replacement of those players.
I wonder what would constitute acceptance amongst the owners that the 'turning around' process has failed and will not happen, and how long it would take. Only once we reach that point, where this acceptance happens, would a change be remotely likely. I still think he's getting the rest of this calendar year at least, unless we drop into the bottom 8 or so of the table.
