Surely that's the end of Rodgers if that happens? I've said I think they'll give him at least the rest of the calendar year but if things drop to such low levels, then there'll have to come a point where the axe falls.
Speaking of width, I'd very much like to see us actually getting in behind Norwich's fullbacks and turning their defence around so they're having to deal with crosses facing their own goal - much harder to defend than crosses from deep when all their defensive players are set, in position and vastly outnumbering us in the box. We don't get in behind teams anywhere near enough.
Could be 442 diamond but I'm guessing 3412. Back 3 of Sakho, Skrtel & Can, Lucas & Milner central mid, wing backs high up the park (unless they get pushed back), Coutinho in the hole with Sturridge & Ben up front.
He's been training fully for over a week and if it's Rodgers saving his own skin & such a huge risk, surely Rodgers is risking his own skin rather than saving it? This probably isn't true but you sound like you don't want our best players to play, in the hope that we don't win and Rodgers gets the boot.
The not having played 2 up front all season point would be stronger if we'd been great playing a lone striker. We've been rubbish though and had very little threat. So going for a front pairing sounds like a good idea to me. As for Sturridge, if he came off the bench, he'd be playing having not kicked a ball in 6 months. What's the big difference?
I don't think there are many situations these days where you can say "It's only ______ at home" Surely West Ham taught us that and so did Bournemouth. Maybe if we get a run of wins and momentum going, with confidence high then it's different but right now, we need the strongest side we can put out. Sturridge has been training for over a week now, he may not have the match fitness to do more than an hour but if he's fit, he should play.
Haha you're clinging onto this, aren't you? Niall Quinn stated with emphasis that Terry wouldn't play the next league game after Man City - he did. Mourinho's dropped him today because he anticipated Walcott's inclusion & he wanted Zouma's pace. Not quite the "end of the world, never play again" kind of doomsday scenario that Quinn painted. But do carry on
Haha, I don't know yet. All I've been told so far is Sakho starts, Sturridge bench. Might hear more tonight, if not, should know tomorrow. Will post it when I do.
