The tramp Ferguson stuck his fingers up at the Stoke fans a couple of years back at their place and nothing was done. Cant fault the effort last night.

hope the players do too....we need them to treat these games like we were playing a top four team, if we can get the attitude right for these type of games we would be very very close

  14. Juventus will beat Liverpool to one Valencia player’s signature It looks like it is very close to being a done deal between Juventus and Valencia for the signature of David Silva and while Liverpool were never realistically in the hunt they will still be disappointed as he was one player that Benitez would have loved to sign. According to Marca the Spanish newspaper Jose Segul the Italian clubs representative is in Valencia now to finalise negotiations and that Juventus are now prepared to meet Valencia’s asking price It has been accepted that forcing a reduced price was no good simply because if Valencia accepted a deduction in value for any of their star players they would not be able to meet their urgent debt repayments, it is simply a case of full price and money up front or nothing. This will however encourage both Liverpool and Man City in their pursuit of Raul Albiol and David Villa respectively as it now means that Valencia have accepted that they must sell their best players to survive, time has run out and they cannot wait to see if they qualify for the Champions League. All deals with Valencia must include a significant down payment possibly the whole amo8unt because even written guarantees of payments are no longer acceptable due to Valencia’s massive debts, this is no issue now for either Liverpool or Man City. Valencia had hoped that other clubs would come in and force a mini auction but this has not materialised and the possibility that both Villa and Albiol will play Premiership football next season are very high.

    Agger

Boots hold key to Daniel Agger recoveryDec 1 2007 by Ian Doyle, Liverpool Daily Post DANIEL AGGER could make his long-awaited return for Liverpool next week – thanks to a special pair of football boots. The Denmark international has not played since the goalless draw at Portsmouth on September 15 after breaking a metatarsal in his right foot. Agger was thought close to a comeback earlier this month only to complain of further discomfort in the same area. However, the 22-year-old will train next week in a specially-commissioned pair of boots designed to protect the metatarsal. And if Agger comes through training with no problems, he could be considered for next Saturday’s Premier League visit to Reading. Story continues ADVERTISEMENT “I was talking with him this morning,” said Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez yesterday. “He is comfortable training in trainers but has had some problems with his boots. They are producing some news boots for him and I’m sure they will help him. “It will be impossible for him to be fit for this week, but he may be back for next week if he is comfortable with the new boots. “We don’t want to put a date on it. We just want to see how he progresses. “But I don’t think he’ll be out for weeks. He can run and can kick the ball, but with the boots he felt something. He is training and doing more or less everything in terms of physical.”
  17. Morientes staying put, says agent Morientes scored only five Premiership goals in the 2005-06 campaign Liverpool striker Fernando Morientes will not be returning to Spain this summer, according to his agent. Gines Carvajal dismissed reports linking Morientes with a move to Real Betis or Valencia, saying: "These are only rumours made up by the press. "There is nothing real - the only thing certain is Morientes has two years left on his contract with Liverpool." Morientes, 30, who did not make Spain's World Cup squad, moved to Liverpool from Real Madrid for £6.3m in 2005. He has scored 12 goals in 52 games for the Reds but managed only five in the Premiership during the 2005-2006 campaign. In 37 games for Spain he has scored 23 goals

  19. Debut joy for Reds' Gonzalez Feb 6 2006 Liverpool Echo MARK GONZALEZ came off the bench to score the winner in a 2-1 victory over Real Mallorca on his league debut for Real Sociedad. The winger, who was sent out on loan by Liverpool after failing to land a work permit, handed new Sociedad coach Gonzalo Arconada the perfect start. Morten Skoubo had put Sociedad in front but the visitors equalised in the 34th minute through Leandro Pisculichi.
