Vincent Kompany is a very silky footballer and a great defender, fast with an ability to play his way out from the back. He has had several setbacks with injuries but from my memory they were to his shoulder and an achillies injury rather than re occuring muscle problems. I think he would be a good signing.

I would actually be pretty pleased with the signing. A left sided player who will get at defenders and works very hard for the team. He has played against the best players in Europe and performed to a high level and for £10m represents some great value for me.

Best of luck to the lad. What I like about this is the fact that Rafa is prepared to get rid of players who are not at the level needed. No more Diaos sitting around for 3-4 years. Prove your worth or you are out. This also gives me a suspicion that someone is lined up for left wing as Kewell and Leto surely is not enough.

If we were to pull off a coup like this in the summer I would be absolutely delighted. For me there is no more clinical striker in the world at the minute and just coming into his prime as a footballer.

It is highly expected in Spain that the Milito brothers will both be at Barca come September. Names that seem to be continuously linked are E'too, Villa, Trezeguet and Raul but I think that Palacio or Bojinov are more likely to be targets for Rafa, neither will cost a significant amount in the £30m bracket closer to around £10 I feel but both offer goals and good workrate. Altough Bojinov has gone quite stale recently.

I heard during the Real Madrid game on sunday that Benitez had checked on the availability of Michel Salgado, who Real want rid off. So I suppose that could be a possible loan situation.

According to one or two west ham mates it is widely known that Mascherano is the best trainer at their club and has tried his best to fit in with everybody at the club and looked to remain positive. Appart from Lennon and Routledge being the same kind of player as are Davids and Lennon then yes you are right. Jenas wont play much, it will be Tainio rather than Jenas.

With Regards to Carrick, I really think they will miss him, I was at their game against Inter Milan yesterday on business and you could tell from the midfields movement and inability to find the right pass that he was a key player for them. They had Tainio, Davids, Keane and Routeledge in midfield so where basically set out as they would(swap Routeledge for Lennon and Davids for Zakora) but it was just the ball going side ways and then losing it. David Pizarro was running the midfield and Davids was showing his age. Berbatov is every bit as lazy as I have heard as well, he will jump for a header and then just stand still. He does not look up for a pass he just hits it and his movement was non existent. Dont get me wrong he may well score goals but as a all round player I think he would be one of the easier strikers to mark.

Me too. It seems that Bellamy is sorting himself out at long last and at 6million could be a tremendous steal. To bring in Bellamy at £6m, Kuyt at £8m and Nihat on a bosman to add to Crouch and Fowler, that would be alot of possibilities

I actually trained at West Ham as a youngster when Defoe had just come back from Bournemouth on loan and it had a confident attitude about him which did occasionally come across as a arrogant t***. But he was actually a rather down to earth lad who's father kept him in check, and it was not against the norm to see him receiving a few words from his old man.
