    Kop that

For Rafa's sake I hope this is not true.
  3. The body language of our players seems to say a number of them have given up on the manager. No matter what happens between now and June suggests to me that whatever good intentions Rafa has had over the past 4 months are being eroded fast by a manager who is hell bent on doing things his way and not prepared to listen to anyone else in the game. It is quite sad and I just hope Rafa sees sense sooner rather than later.
  4. Here is their website http://www.holbornpr.co.uk/ They seem to specialize in sport, specifically football takeovers.
  5. Mihaylov was very impressive when he played against Ireland U-21's in November.

  8. We still look in control. Kuyts first touch is getting worse though!!
  9. No bother We have them in midfield. Just hope we can get the goal soon.
  10. Where did I say we were playing poor?? We've twice had the opportunity to break from midfield but both times it came to nothing due to the lack of pace in attack. Don't tell me to shut up either.
  11. f*** me we're slow.
  12. Babel looking very lively. Crouch should of buried that.
  13. This is what he actually said
  14. I'm totally disillusioned too but I finally read something positive about our club tonight : http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/main.jhtm...0/sfnfro110.xml Liverpool 'did not support' overseas plan By Simon Hart Last Updated: 12:43am GMT 10/02/2008 The Premier League's controversial plan to cash in on the worldwide popularity of the English game by playing an extra 'international round' of 10 matches abroad has been dealt an embarrassing blow by the revelation that at least three Premier League clubs were strongly opposed to the idea of playing overseas when it was first mooted four months ago. Surprisingly, among those against the concept were the two American owners of Liverpool, Tom Hicks and George Gillett, while Sunderland and Middlesbrough also voiced their opposition, raising a question mark over the claim by Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore that the proposal had the unanimous backing of the club chairmen. Last October, the Football Supporters' Federation wrote to all 20 chairmen to canvass their views on playing Premier League fixtures abroad after Eggert Magnusson, then chairman of West Ham, had suggested that the Premier League should play a game abroad, namely in the United States, following the example set by the NFL, who staged a regular season game between the New York Giants and the Miami Dolphins in front of a sell-out crowd at Wembley Stadium on Oct 28. Only three clubs replied to the FSF letter, but all of them were firmly against the idea of playing Premiership matches on foreign soil. The responses included one from Rick Parry, the chief executive of Liverpool, who wrote in a letter dated Nov 30: "Our owners have asked me to respond to your letter of October 30th. At no stage has our board ever contemplated the idea of playing Premier League fixtures overseas. "The matter has never arisen. Given the investment we are making in our new stadium, the last thing we are thinking of is taking matches out of it." A reply from Middlesbrough chief executive Keith Lamb was equally forthright. In his letter to FSF chairman Malcolm Clarke dated Nov 12 he wrote: "Thank you for your recent letter addressed to our chairman, which has been passed on to me for reply. "On behalf of Middlesbrough Football Club I can confirm that we would not support such a move and realistically it is not something that we could see happening in the future." The third response, dated Nov 13, was from Sunderland chairman Niall Quinn, who wrote: "I am aware of recent press coverage regarding moving competitive, regular season Premier League games overseas and I can confirm that the board of Sunderland AFC have no plans to support such a move. I hope this assists you in your research poll." Quinn's reply is ironic since his reaction to Thursday's announcement of the globalisation plan painted a totally different picture. "It's tantalising and, off the top of my head, I would say it's the correct decision," said Quinn. Parry's comment that the "matter has never arisen" also suggests that the plan was only hatched in the last couple of months. Scudamore claimed at Thursday's news conference that "we have been wrestling with how we might do something internationally for some time". The unequivocal nature of the views expressed by all three clubs indicates that not every Premiership club is fully behind the idea, though a Premier League spokesman said there was a big difference between an international round of matches and following the NFL lead of taking a single game overseas. "Richard [scudamore] is on record as saying that what the NFL did was anathema to all the Premier League chairmen. Taking someone's home game away would truly be taking something away from the fans. "We don't want to take anything away from fans. That's why we have this concept of doing it for all 20 clubs with an extra round of fixtures so nobody loses a home game. That's one of the guiding principles of how we're trying to take this forward." The idea has nevertheless provoked a storm of protest with the FSF receiving more responses from angry supporters than they have ever experienced on a single issue. Prime Minister Gordon Brown has urged the Premier League to "listen to the fans". Uefa president Michel Platini has also waded into the debate, describing the plan as "strange and comical". Fifa, the sport's world governing body, said their executive committee would study the proposal at their meeting next month.

  18. I'd rather see Guthrie get a chance but Johnson is a good prospect.
  19. With Rafa's achievements he deserves to see out his contract even if his tactics and decisions make my blood boil at times. He is the best man for the job just like he was when he replaced GH. If there was another Rafa out there somewhere I'd consider a change but there isn't and the only way is backwards if he leaves the club now.
  20. Hes the most technically gifted European footballer I've seen for sometime.
  21. Bid still on according to Bascombe. I don't have the article, just saw the back pages on SSN.
  22. Benzema Ribery
  23. Him and Torres up front could be very exciting. But I think he has a back injury and is meant to be out till March so I can't see it happening.
