  1. Only need to think what the league table would look like tonight to see why he deserves it... 1 Man Utd 19 9 1 0 27 6 2 7 0 14 12 23 41 2 Man City 21 6 3 2 14 7 6 2 2 19 9 17 41 3 Arsenal 20 6 0 3 22 11 6 3 2 20 11 20 39 4 Tottenham 20 6 4 1 17 9 4 2 3 13 14 7 36 5 Chelsea 19 7 1 1 19 4 3 3 4 14 11 18 34 6 Sunderland 21 6 4 1 14 7 1 5 4 10 15 2 30 7 Bolton 21 5 4 1 21 12 2 4 5 12 16 5 29 8 Stoke 20 5 2 4 14 12 3 1 5 11 12 1 27 9 Blackpool 18 2 2 2 11 11 5 2 5 15 19 -4 25 10 Blackburn 21 4 3 3 12 9 3 1 7 14 25 -8 25 11 Newcastle 19 3 3 4 20 14 3 1 5 8 17 -3 22 12 Everton 20 2 4 3 10 12 2 6 3 11 12 -3 22 13 West Brom 20 4 2 4 13 15 2 2 6 13 21 -10 22 14 West Ham 21 3 4 4 14 16 1 4 5 8 17 -11 20 15 Aston Villa 19 4 4 2 15 12 1 1 7 5 22 -14 20 16 Wigan 19 2 5 3 10 19 2 3 4 7 12 -14 20 17 Fulham 20 2 5 3 11 14 1 5 4 8 10 -5 19 18 Birmingham 19 3 5 2 9 10 0 5 4 9 14 -6 19 19 Wolverhampton 20 4 2 4 14 15 1 1 8 6 19 -14 18 20 Liverpool 19 6 2 2 17 8 1 2 6 6 16 -1 16* * 9 points deducted
  2. Thought the 10 days was to do the Owners & Directors test, which they could've done in the last 10 days once they were notified of interested parties. Assuming that's been done, then wouldn't the bidding process just be a club issue?
  3. You just know the Tories are going to re-bury this when they get in. Clock's ticking.

  5. We're cancelling our DL car policy today (we were doing this anyway at renewal, not claiming I'm making a big stand) but we're going to say RBS's backing is the reason for cancelling. I'm pretty sure these things will be tracked internally if it's given as the reason by enough people.
  6. Is this not potentially good news long-term w.r.t. getting them out? When they have to refinance, if there's no firm plans for a new stadium generating an extra £20M+ a year as income to service the debts, then their chances of being forced to sell by the banks surely increase? Not a finance man myself, but I thought their business plans were all based around a higher income in future?
  7. I'm convinced that whenever we win our next title, it'll be very scrappy with lots of last minute winners, wins against the run of play, we'll be written off as lucky, worst team to ever win the league etc, but we'll then go on and improve our standard of play. Not saying that will happen this season but I think that's more likely than next winning it by being the most stylish team in the league. Chelsea did it a few years ago (though arguablte that they have improved since?), Utd did it in the nineties, where they were 'just' a counter-attacking side. They didn't always play to the standard they do now.
  8. Every bit of joy at making a big signing is tinged with the knowledge we're spending the banks money and it may come back and bite us on the a*** in a few years time.
  9. You'd think we were the only club that paid players a wage
  10. Took me 3 hours and hearing his name on the radio to get that
