most certainly not the only one mate. what's more, he saved us at least twice before their goal by coming off his line very quickly to counter the Barcode's only threat - slipping the ball thru for Martin's to run on to. and, even better, he continued to choose to 'sweep' after their goal too - very successfully - and once again showed us his balls & ability to shrug off a set-back. i think it was genuinely just pure rancid-fanny luck. a perfect microcosm for yet another game i cannot begin to explain how we lost. the fact it was up at that s***house just makes it worse...

not wanting to re-open old wounds, nor prolong the argument, but I read a post in this thread from RAWK 'ere which - to me at least - did include new information, apparently from Souness's point of view. It's DannyD's post, towards the bottom of the first page. just passing on what I read lads...

also, in addition to confirming the above, there's a piece from a Hammers fan-page 'ere, which interestingly mentions the transfer of Sami in part-exchange for Mascherano. maybe untrue, but it's worth reading anyway, not least for the 'appy 'ammers responses to the article underneath, none of which - surprisingly - have any mention of 'cor blimey', nor 'strike a light guv.'
