  1. £1.5M a week there. No champions league nor prospect of a title challenge here. It’s not beyond possible at all if those wage numbers are true. The fee is laughable though. I reckon they accept >£130M but only if they have players lined up. Even FSG wouldn’t take the risk otherwise.
  2. The once, best in europe defence, is on the decline. Seems an odd time to change the dynamic so much. Buy a right back to complement our, not that long ago, world class left back. Buy someone to sit in front of the defence. Play Trent in Midfield
  3. Depends what your expectations of the season are though, doesnt it?
  4. Oh, he’s playing that position too! Its this new amazing idea.

  6. Probably gets a bigger bonus not bringing in any in.
  7. Very unlikely that Madrid will need to sell Tchouameni to buy Mbappe when it is agreed that he's joining for free in 11 months. They will, rightly, offer PSG a relative pittance for him now and certainly not an amount that means they need to sell one of the foundations of their new team. I can't stand Madrid but they are going to have a very good side for a while to come. I can't stand PSG either so there's at least a funny side.
  8. Totally agree with your position, as i am sure several do, despite the ranting replies on the last couple of pages.
  9. Oh fair enough, yeah i think he’s more likely a Keita than a Suarez type when it comes to playing with a knock. And yeah, i can see him taking even less risk being so near to the end of his contract. However, i think he’s nearer a level Suarez ability than a Keita, and that is why it is really annoying. Anyway, putting aside the whys and wherefores, he won’t play much for us for whatever reason imo.
  10. weird
  11. I haven't and wouldn't compare him to Keita. I wouldn't be bothered or annoyed when Keita was injured.
  12. Just over exaggerating through annoyance at his perennial injured status. If he had a swansong season before he departs it would have a huge impact on our season and the younger lads. I just feel he is hardly going to risk his next contract by playing if he has a slight knock. And he always has a slight knock.
  13. He is going to collect huge wages and play no part this season.
  14. Klopp gives it to the longest serving player doesn't he? Joe Gomez.....!
  15. And, Midfield is obviously short but so is defence. Cover at RB is non existent still. Cover at Centre back is woeful. Virgil still good but past his best. Konate very promising but injury prone Matip declining and due a knock or two Gomez - ditto above.
  16. No one is going to argue with that!
  17. It’s a shame but i am now wishing he would just f*** off.
  18. Still, he would have thought about all of that already before accepting. Wasn’t like it was spring in him by the Club. Just some PR guff now.
  19. Our succession planning has been poor for a few years. Our success has meant we havent had the Torres, Coutinho or Suarez issues of recent times but we have instead gone to far the other way, where we look like keeping them all best until well past their best and then letting them slide for next to nothing. This summer is a step in the right direction in my book, albeit not ideal doing everything in one window.
  20. Looks like City have Gvardiol. Record fee for a defender. Be interesting to see what they do with Phillips who, at 50M, was a big signing last year but they dont sit on players who arent working out anymore.
  21. Sorry, misunderstood your previous reply. Yes, totally agree.
  22. Would seem weird to have Trent as Capt with VVD, Robertson and Salah in the team, all of whom id put ahead of him for the moment.
  23. Well not really. Struggling with a 10M fee for Jordan Henderson to be the figurehead of your team in the new dynasty of Middle Eastern football is a pittance when measured against a salary bigger than all bar a few clubs in the world can pay but wouldn’t to Jordan.
  24. They can’t be paying 700k a week and struggling with a 10m fee. They’ll be virtually paying 10m to the player every 3months for 3 years.
