    We will, rightly, get as much as we can for him. Let’s see what Bayern ask for the nearly 34 year old Lewandowski before we criticise the club for dragging this deal out.

    He has two years. Likelihood is that securing champions league and Conte is enough for him to stay.

    Madness. He is by far our biggest goal threat and letting him go would be madness. We would have to pay a small fortune to get a some as good, if such a player is availabe.

    There’s a lot of pressure on this signing. If, next season our central forward is Jota with Firmino as back up, then we are going to struggle in the tightest matches again. The right striker is more important than the midfielder we also need.

    We’ve done that just recently with Diaz and going forward with Carvalho. Jota is not superstar material yet either, so with three in ‘development’ we’ll see a big drop of if we sign another to replace Mane.

    Haaland and Mbappe are gone. Lewandowski is going to Barca and seemingly not keen on England. Beyond that there is a tier where nothing is guaranteed including Nunez. So, there isn’t anyone obvious and hence, we have Kane rumours which we all know are rubbish. In short, we’ll keep Mane another year.

    Players wont care. They know they are the best team in Europe this year. Only our fans will be out, so who gives a f*** what anyone else thinks? They’ll have the best day ever on an open top bus celebrating an amazing season after a truly dreadful one last year. What a turn around.

    He’s been good but it’s not his natural position. When he has a chance, invariably it’s 50/50 that he puts it away. I’m not moaning. We’ve only been a few goals short of winning everything! We have an amazing team but, at this level, the margins are fine. Shying away from a 30 year old because there’s no resale is not a good plan. These days, potentially no top player gives his club a resale value.
