Forget his heading ability, his height alone makes him better in the air than Cisse. There can be no doubt that he has a better touch and technique than Djibril, he is a better finisher and he is more of a team player. Other than pace and modeling contracts, Cisse has nothing over Crouch.

Vidic is a joke, right? Ferdinand on form is an exceptional defender. On his day he is the best around, no doubt about it. I think Terry is very over rated, but at least he isn't a pr!ck. That said, Terrys reputation has increased in the last few weeks in his absence! Hilario can take a little credit for that though. When you kave Cech behind you, Carvalho and Gallas in proximity and Makalele in front of you, you can't fail to look good. Obviously Micah Richards is in the top 5 aswell ........

Agreed. This is probably the easiest position to pick.

I think Essien will be the best in a few years. There are very few who can win the ball and turn defence into attack immediately. The best in recent years in this position were Kenae and Vieira, the nearest player to them at the moment is Gerrard. As you are looking for a World XI, I see Gerrard in there as a defensive midfielder, surprised he doesn't get a mention. He maybe the best attacking midfielder at our club, but he would only make it into a world XI in a more othodox central midfielder role.

How do you rate Bent?

Supposing we sign someone like Owen, he'll need a player like Crouch to play off. I don't think he'd hit it off with Bellamy and Kuyt won't play every game, so the need for a pacey finisher has nothing to do with whether Crouch should stay or go. Bent is linked in the Mirror today. Hope not.

Maybe not right now, but on form... Cole, Heinze & Zambrotta. A full back has to offer something on the overlap at the highest level.

The first three were a different era. Mourinho has won the title in both of his seasons, now I guess they want it done with breathtaking style. Hopefully nothing will be enough for RA. He is a good manager, but not great. Does his record match Mourinhos? I hope he gets the job, he will be under pressure (more than JM was) to get it right from the first game, in a league totally different to what he is used to. Maybe Roman will chip in with a few more signings like Shevchenko aswell.

If Chelsea go down the road of changing the manager every other season it can only be good for us.

We need flair players who only take a risk if their is no chance of failure....

He won't, he will want to get on with his career and play first team football and rightly so. We will need two strikers, and two wide midfielders. Pennant and Gonzalez are in the same bracket as Crouch, good in the interim until the right player is available/affordable.

We will need more than two if we are to challenge next season.
