Squad players will come and go anyway, bigger squad means bigger turnover of fringe players. We just have a better quality of fringe player now.

An invitation for offers? I think he's a valuable player, but if he doesn't play he'll want out come January. Why sell him then as an outcast rather than now for full value if he isn't going figure much?

Regarding Tevez to ManU, isn't he a lot like Rooney? Excellent players no doubt, but not the cutting edge they should be after. If you spend 18m+ on players, generally you are going to play them. Are they going to drop Scholes, Giggs and play a back three?, good news. -

I don't think he needs to 'shore up the squad', we need to sign first team players. I'd also place a top class winger above your striker and two full backs.

This reminds me of the ZZ rumours of the past. With us denied the Champs League spot by Bradford on the last day of the season, ZZ was forced to move to Real Madrid instead of the Liverpool side managed by his sons Godfather..... Frankly, that was more believable.

Also, I haven't got a clue what Tevez' record is like, the only forward supposedly available who has a record comparable that of Owen & Fowler at the same age is Huntelaar. I've never seen him play and the Dutch league isn't as high a standard as Spains, but RVN came from there....

Admittedly, I've not seen much of Torres but he doesn't have the record of a young Fowler or Owen which I'd expect for a number 9 with his price and reputation. That said, Shearer didn't have a dazzling record before leaving Soton.

In terms of 'all time' surely Ronaldinho isn't better than Ronaldo? I think Ronaldo has achieved more, and at their peak I know which one I'd want in my team. -
Fabregas Top 10?! Alonso wasn't even in this top 50 list, that is a bigger ommission, on form he is a superb player.

That is a a top 50 to rank with any footballer ever. I hope he goes to Barcelona and blows away Messi and Ronaldinho, I've always liked Henry and this move his perfect for him having made himself an Idol at Highbury. The time he blew away Carra and Henchoz? always makes me laugh, thank f*** he has gone!

Fuuny how some get in on reputation and Henry gets dropped to 12 on the back of not playing since March! Interesting to see he rates Tevez so highly, 8th.

It is amazing that we are talking about one being worth £30M and hoping we get £8m for the other. During the pursuit of Cisse, Eto'o was often refered to as a fall back option if I remember correctly. It would have been so much simpler if Cisse was actually half as good as he was supposed to be.
