  1. When a position is so critical to our game, and we are so reluctant to change tactics, then I’d say it’s essential to buy someone who allows them to rest or be injured. As perfectly illustarted by the form we have to tolerate right now.
  2. I’d like to think he would too but then i look at the list of options you've just put there. Injured, unreliable, terrible form or required elsewhere and perhaps Klopp is forced to be pragmatic and hopes, every match, to fix this lack of application. If he can’t and it continues through to may, then we’ll see what he does but right now his options are limited.
  3. Which bit? That I don’t think he is putting a shift in? Or, If we pick players that aren't giving everything, then we wont improve? Or, not trying is not acceptable? I guess that you don’t agree with he isn’t putting a shift in because no one would disagree with the following two comments. Fair enough, we see things differently but, genuinely, i don't think he is trying hard enough and dont think that is an unreasonable observation. I also think the same of a few other players but i think they know they are out this summer.
  4. You’re probably right and hopefully the management are reward with his effort and application getting back to at least an acceptable level. It would be great if he lead from the front as one of our best players, accepted we are mediocre at the moment but gave every ounce for the rest of this season and then next season he can kick on again with new players around him. It will say a lot about him if he puts every effort in and finishes the season strongly. Others already know they are on the way out and will continue to coast. A lightening rod in that no one expects anything but they do want 100% effort and don’t believe he is giving that.
  5. His application isn’t at fault, he is just past his best. It’s why teams sell players, they don't go on forever. Fixing mental fatigue and confidence can start by taking them out of the firing line, if that is what you think Trents problem is. Either way, the team needs to see actions (or lack of) have consequences or this downward spiral is continuing until the end of the season.
  6. I never mentioned hair.
  7. Haircut is irrelevant and nonsense and I’d imagine a joke so not one to dwell on. Attitude is contagious and a lazy, not arsed one needs to be stamped out early. If you don't think this team has an attitude problem then fine but i do and, to me, he is one of the worst. The leadership team must lead, route it out and make examples to the rest that it results in being dropped or sold. I dont care how good the player is on his day.
  8. No. He isn’t putting a shift in, that attitude is piss poor. We’ve sat by and watched the legs go of several players. If we also sit by and pick players that aren’t giving it everything because it’s someone else’s fault then next season will be no different. Not trying is not acceptable at any level.
  9. He’s an inverse Samson. We needed to be braver with players and, if we were, we wouldn’t have the current situation where so many are past their peak. He’s someone whose future we should be considering. You cant win games with players who aren't up for a battle.
  10. Unless the 4th is Keita obvs.
  11. Unless it’s maybe right midfield in a 4, i really don't want to see Trent in the team. His attitude and current ability at full back are making matters even worse. Get him and Keita off and put them with Joe Gomez.
  12. And yet no one seems to think we need to sign a first team right back as a matter of urgency.
  13. Klopp is indulging something strange with Keita.
  14. We need, first team standard, 2 midfielders, a central defender and a right back as the minimum.

    Joe Gomez

    He is hapless
  16. Joe Gomez is having a good game……
  17. Dreaming or optimism?
  18. They won't be his boss. The can have a title, but they wont be in charge of Jurgen.
  19. Nothing weird with choosing optimism when we know nothing and there is no timeframe.
  20. This is absolutey crucial to win. If we do, 6 points behind them with a game in hand and their confidence dented and top 4 well within our means. We aren’t catching any one else in the top 4 other than these.
  21. Glazers will take the highest bid, that won’t be Ineos. ideally it would be because it will be more of an overall self funding model. But it will be the Qatar bid. They will free them of debt, pay for all of their ground development and overall infrastructure and comply with FFP by using all of their revenue for the playing side. Which will be huge compared to us. A very negative side of me sees them buying Mbappe and Bellingham this summer.
  22. Not disputing any of this or even offering an opinion on it! Someone said that the info from MarkD was impossible as a pre contract cant be agreed unless he’s at the end of his contract. I merely noted that it probably referred to an agreement with BD for a transfer, not with the player.
  23. Yes, like that but with jan23 for Jul23.
