  1. Hardly. Madrid paid 70m for him over 20 years ago. Todays fees, he’d be nearer 200m.
  2. Club is rudderless.
  3. Sell him. Use the money to buy better.
  4. Groundhog Day. Try something different or have the coaches actually gone mad.
  5. The drop off, in their position, from world class to abysmal as illustrated by Fabinho and Trent doesn’t deserve another showing. Just seems mad watching them and the 433 again, again and then, Jota.
  6. Felt really positive that today was a point when we see a permanent change. That team takes the optimism away - more of the same. Be a bit maverick, Jurgen.
  7. Annoying that they’ll have made the champions league in one season. Watch them spend now.
  8. Babbel walks into the first team now, the rest would struggle to make an impact. League is so difficult now.
  9. Oh yes, i notice the extra letter on c**** now!
  10. Who are you calling a c***? Jurgen?
  11. He doesn't want to risk an injury before his free agent move. The annoying thing about all this, is that he's a mediocre player and we shouldn't care less if he is available or not.
  12. Bobby Robson at the 1990 World Cup. By player demand.
  13. With Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal first up, we’ll either be cruising for it or out of it very soon. I hope if it is the latter, we focus on building for next year and drop as many of this years poor performers as possible whilst still having enough to field a team. Which might be difficult.
  14. Fair to assume an element of disagreement with Jurgen led to most of them seeking pastures new. I know who I’d side with but I do think his attachment to players isn’t ideal at a ‘money ball’ club but that’s probably hindsight.

  16. Keep him and it’s likely he leaves on a free at the end of his contract or for a lot less in a year or two, having had a pretty undistinguished couple of years here. Not better than the four in front of him, injury prone. And we do need to sell some players to add additional funds to buy. Like every other club bar the state owned.
  17. I agree but think we need a seriously good right back. One that makes the prospect of Trent playing in midfield a probability. His demeanour possibly suggests he is fed up at RB and he could potentially save us a fortune if he can wed determination and work ethic to his world class ability. Then we need a centre half, still two midfielders in addition to the RB. £250M odd So, we simply have to sell Jota plus probably Fabinho and Jones for circa 100M and the usual suspects who’ll generate a pittance. FSG stump up the 150M and we’re on!
  18. Hanging onto everyone who might get back to a best, is partly why we are now in need of this massive overhaul. I’d sell if someone wants him for £60M. We need 4 first teamers so will need to sell as well as hope for investment.
  19. Some of the players look ready for a new challenge. It’s up to the coaching staff to make that happen here and bring the best of the good players or ship them out. Good players still in there, they just don’t look motivated beyond the obvious games now.

    Welcome VvD

He’s 32 soon and his legs have already gone on our payroll. We have held onto all of our best players this time around, mainly because they wanted to stay, but maybe it hasn’t been managed as well as could be regards the legs/payroll scenario. Maybe this was the fallout between Klopp and Edward’s? When to let key players go and replace with younger. Quite often there’s a fans fallout about it but then that player looks poor elsewhere and we move on. On Virgil, he was one of the best defenders ever and he should be able to adapt and play at the highest level for a few more years. I would keep him and think he will be a key player for years to come amongst a younger, hungrier team.
  21. Going to score down our right if we don’t sharpen up.
  22. Yes, I prefer Diaz on the left of a fully functioning Jurgen Klopp front 3 to Rashford, based on a few months of his form and a few years of Rashford's. I can see why you would prefer Rashford though, but I bet he's poor again soon. Yes, Konate hopefully puts a good, long run together soon and probably is ahead of Martinez.
  23. I'd be: Alisson Trent Martinez VVD Robertson Fernandes Casemiro Thiago Salah Nunez Diaz
  24. Makes more sense! I think Rashford is on the form of his life but won't remain at that level. I prefer Diaz for left forward based on ability and suitability for that position.
  25. Casemiro, Fernandes and Martinez I would say. Can’t think who your other 5 are! Maybe you are basing it on form?
