  1. Indirectly i guess that is questioning his desire. Surely he should have managed a grasp of the language by now, appreciating that everyone learns at different speeds of course.
  2. I think this current idea is robbing peter to pay paul. Just too clever.
  3. Beauty! Great assist from Trent - cant we just play him in midfield and someone else at right back.
  4. Depressing. Hopefully the lads we sign are made of steel.
  5. We were so dominant in possession that he was barely exposed in the way he has been this season. Don't see how this is contentious.
  6. That's just childish.
  7. Ok, but apart from when he has been lots of times this season?
  8. Yep - the rest of the team were so good, we were able to carry a bad defender. He's an outstanding attacking right back - no disputing that and the best in the world.
  9. Let's hope so, if the plan is only about improving midfield. I think it's a huge risk to go into next season without a proper plan B for right back. We put so much emphasis on right back being key to our success and yet seem happy to have no quality cover. That position has cost us big time this year but we are goign to blame all that on the midfielders - i think there's a bit of blame to be shared.
  10. Agreed. I'd be spending a lot of money on a right back that allows us to carry on playing the way we do when one is injured Buy a good enough one that allows Trent to play in midfield is the way forward. When required he can play at RB. Trent isn't the best RB in the world because in the big games he is found wanting when he comes up against the best left sided attackers. Most of the best attackers play on the left.
  11. With the pressure off now that CL qualification is gone, you might think a performance is imminent but i reckon it will be dire again. They just want the season over and start again.
  12. Its a good article. And, evidently, exhausting for anyone who gives a s*** about people still giving a s*** about Bellingham.
  13. Probably because it’s going to be an auction settled on august 31st. Not something we want to be involved in. truth is, we’ll need to sell them whilst they have value. Like Madrid did with Casemiro and then they had the next gen midfield ready to go.
  14. Yes, late arrivals aren’t going to be on the agenda this summer. Perhaps there was a bid for Bellingham, albeit a low one, and it became apparent that Dortmund and the agent were happy for this to be the transfer saga of the summer. We cant afford that situation and risk missing out on him and then others who move earlier.
  15. Indeed, poor planning. Did Edwards and Co walk because they weren’t allowed to do what was needed for a continuous refresh or were they pushed because they hadn’t done it and it was too late? To do it properly there will always be some contentious decisions and i think we shied away from them because of how it looks selling big players when they are still playing well.
  16. More likely that Klopp wasn’t expecting the dramatic fall off in ability across sections of the team. Bellingham was a world class addition to a world class team - ‘only first teamers now’ Oh, they have all become piss poor. Back to the drawing board.
  17. Yep. Decide how much to dislike him depending on where. Although going to be Madrid, Man C or…. Man U. High level dislike guaranteed.
  18. You’d hope so, given his age. I think it’s that he’s seen as a Zidane, Gerrard level player Pay your money, take your chance. Or not.
  19. You are right, the attriton of dealing with FSG sees us compromise but there isn;t much choice in the day to day. I do hope you are wrong about Trent. He can't give anymore of a signal that he doesn't want to play there anymore other than a transfer request. It must be within our uber coaching teams means to turn him into a midfielder.
  20. If i was a betting man and being realistic in this pessimistic moment then I’d say he’s done for Man City. They had Haaland done very early without making a fuss about it.
  21. I’d rather sign just Bellingham, than the three we apparently now need for midfield, plus sign a RB and CB which we need whatever happens. No CL next year means we can be streamlined. A 3 from Bellingham, Bajcetic, Trent, Hendo, Fabinho, Jones and Elliot in midfield. The five forwards we have and the obvious repairs to defence in a new RB and third choice CB. A world class signing will lift the whole team again.
  22. He should tell them they’ve got until June 30th and need to persuade him to stay.
  23. He isn’t signing.
  24. We’ll sign a few decent midfielders but no ‘winner’, who is much better than the rest of them to push the team on. So, we’ll have the same insipid 433 rolled out next year with the odd performance when the top lads can be arsed, until a major reset precedes a few years in the wilderness. All because we naively hung on for two young midfielders who, strangely, went to the best team in for them. Oh God - is this parody?
  25. So we’ll sign a couple more maybe’s to add to Nunez and Gakpo. Too much gambling to win anything next year.
