  1. Kylian Mbappe, recent Real Madrid signing and fellow Balon D’or contender, reaped most of the transfer fee he saved them, circa 90-100m. An estimate of a 30m fee for Trent is common sense. Reported or otherwise.
  2. Trent was always going to Madrid, whatever Slot or FSG did. The fact that we are walking the league does piss on his planned narrative for the move but he’ll take the winners medal as a silver lining.
  3. Thank god the best player on the pitch is in red!
  4. If it wasn’t for the injuries we have, he shouldn’t be in against Utd really. Although if we drop him for Sunday, that will feed into his propaganda. Will become a big sideshow now and needs some positive management.
  5. If he’s leaving in June but we want to get the best out of him for the rest of the season, he needs to sort his contract with them ASAP. A big injury is always a slight risk, so I can’t see him putting his all into every game until he has that signing on fee signed and sealed. That’s not casting aspersions on his character either, just common sense.
  6. It’s a significant reason why he won’t sign. Mbappes signing on fee was reported to be over £100m by various outlets including the BBC.
  7. Well, the offer from us definitely won’t have an absolutely huge signing on fee in lieu of saving a transfer fee. Will it.
  8. Well, I don’t think this was quite the one-sided f*** up that you do, but it makes little difference now. If you believe Trent has been let down by the club, rest assured that he benefits from such ineptitude, and the losses are all FSG’s. Either way, he’s whisked away in the traditional Madrid fashion, and we have to move on!
  9. It’s a footballers wet dream to get to the last year of their deal, get a mega millions signing on fee, a huge contract and a place at Real Madrid is a bonus. Circumstance worked out for him and his agent to get to that point. Now, either we cover off that big signing on fee he has in front of him and the huge wages or he goes. He might go anyway. If Klopp wasn’t leaving maybe it gets sorted the summer before last with a bullish ultimatum from Jurgen, but we’ll never know. It’s not just about FSG ‘not selling him’ though.
  10. Seriously. You think that they hadn’t thought of that? The disdain for FSG is such that people think they wouldn’t have signed up those three if the cost was Chiesa’s salary?! Chiesa has turned out s***, as we all knew he would but his salary isn’t the reason we haven’t managed to agree a deal with the three but then you know that.
  11. So easy to say. What if he said ‘No, I’ll see out my contract’. What do you propose then, they forcibly sell him? Laughably simplistic.
  12. He’d have a contract with RM so the worry of an injury wouldn't be ahead of winning the league and CL. I’d still like to sell him though so he doesn’t get any medals but thats not forward thinking.
  13. It won’t be here. No lose for Madrid because if he’s not up to it for them, they’ll still get >£60m.
  14. His passing and vision are not going to wane, his fitness will stay with him a lot longer than the average player. Time will tell but I think he will contribute for a while yet, albeit in a more central, advanced role.
  15. Why do you care so much? Mo will still be fit as a fiddle in 3 years and capable of playing a big role at any top club, including ours.
  16. People here seriously believe we haven't spoken to his agent about a new contract at any stage over the past 18months?
  17. Ok - could be a big challenge. HTH
  18. Losing 4 players at the same time, who all make a decent case for a place in our best ever XI, is going to be a big challenge. You’d think the powers that be will not allow that to happen but they might have no choice now.
  19. Yep. The time to sort this has passed and the club bottled calling these players out on their intentions. Probably worried about the optics. Now they look like prize chumps again and the money to replace these 3 will be laughable. Should have had at least 100m contributed toward it. I'd say Trent made his mind up when we decided we weren't big enough to go for Bellingham once Madrid were in.
  20. He’s done the hard part, getting into the final year of his contract. He isn’t going to sign a new one now. A fortune and Real Madrid await.
  21. Blimey - two teams who can’t pass 5 yards.
