It was said at the time that Rafa picked the 3 subs (Cisse, Smicer, Didi) and the two fittest, Riise and Stevie to take them due to them being fresher. Stevie would of taken the 5th.

I agree. We also have to prove our mettle here and I think we will this season. Rafa's targeting the right areas, Sammy Lee is a good addition and we will have learnt a lot this season. And we have Torres

No it is an official recognition of our resurgence as a force in Europe. It is something that we should be thankful for and it is most certainly not "naff". Why degrade one of the few good things about the club at this point in time other than to be controversial on the internet.

Alonso leaving can only be at his request, IMO. He might be saying all the right things but that's Rafa working the market. Personally I hope he stays, class player.

Well he is still on our pay roll. Currently receiving the optional 6th year on a 5 year contract signed when he was what, 17-18yo (?). What the f*** was going on.

Don't get me wrong as I do not believe Torres would leave but how much money could Hicks get for those players and get rid of Rafa at the same time? Keep half of it and use the rest to satisfy the puppet that replaces Rafa.

Having seen it, he is saying like he is disappointed he didn't get the chance late when he was fit. He isn't having a go at Rafa who did what he had to do. Basically it is f*** all but the media is going for it, as they do.

I suggest you have a look at Le Tallec's contract. There is a reason why some of the old board members hated Rafa. Here's a clue. Rafa laughed at their recruiting policies.

Good post. That game was the only time we saw the real Harry kewell, IMO. Brilliant performance, took the piss with every Chelsea player in front of him. That's what he could do when fit. Even his first 4-5 months while good were never Harry at his best IMO, although considering he was new to the team he did as well as could be expected.

Firstly I do not want to sell him. Think he is being vastly underrated and his worth not given due recognition by supporters everywhere. For me he is an integral part of a successful team that competes on multiple fronts. In Europe he is very important IMO and for me if he is sold it is due to either XA request or fund raising. He should stay, end of.

He can only pay the players so much. When we are paying dross big wages for nothing for so many years ala Daio, Diouf, LeT, Pongolle, Cheyrou etc you are limited in what you can bring in. We cleared most of it last year but we are still paying Le Tallec till 30/6/08 It's not just about the transfer fee. -
