Mourinho at Old Trafford. That would go down well after his antics a couple of years ago. Then again Glazer probably didnt see that. Good effort to spruce things up GEH007but somehow i dont think so.

Yes. Only because i want to see Rafa turn him into half of an Henry. DC has ability, more than he has shown this year without doubt. He has come back from a bad injury and has a hell of a lot to learn, which he seems to be very slow at. However i want Rafa to take him on as a personal challenge and turn him into a goal machine next year. then sell him for 14M

Let's vote for Garcia or Xabi for FA Cup player of the round

Sorry but how the f*** can Harry not be an option? Clear cut winner obviously and obviously not wanted by the administrator. Joke comp. -
So zenden will play LW ahead of Harry? Speedy is already better than Harry in the EPL? Harry has no chance of getting his "verve" back after a preseason (which he was denied last year!). Barring injury i say HK will play more minutes than Speedy next year. I expect speedy to replace him but not next year!
-
That wasnt the post i responded to either?

Dus. We all agree i think but he has had a fair workload and ideally would of been rested more than he has. His crossing is improving visibly, the last month has seen a big improvement. Just a pity they havent always resulted in goals when they should have (and i am not just referring to Moro's effort). He still has a lot of upside and he is still getting there. Speedy's arrival and a preseason (after a rest) will help, not hinder Harry as well as giving Rafa "more possibilities". I can't wait TBH.
-
I expect the arrival will help Harry immeasurably. HK has played a lot of games this year since his recovery. Performing consistently, having few bad games, yet not as his best. I suspect that having to play 2 games a week doesnt allow a full recovery, he has admitted as much himself. His comments on the offal recently that he doesnt have to worry about his groin anymore was telling for me. That is the first time he has said that, always before he had some concern still. I sspect this is due to a less condensed schedule lately. I suspect HK will get a good rest and then allowed to come in slowly, with Speedy getting a burst a the start of the season before HK taking over again to allow MG to settle properly. I suspect before christmas we will see HK getting the start and MG coming on in the 60 min mark. I also expect the opposite to happen often. I can also see Harry being moved after the hour to 2nd striker. In fact i can see all sorts of "possibilities" but most of all i can Harry being played only as often as his body allows to keep him fresh and that IMO means we just might see the "old" Harry more regularly. PS I am a little concerned how many people think MG will walk in to our 1st eleven next year. Probably the same who lacked faith in Harry last year, which is understandable. However we should not forget HK is 28, proven and i would suggest ready to show he is far from a spent force. Good on you Fig. Pleased to see you recognise that Harry has turned the corner.

That sums it up for me. He isnt what he was but how many better LW are there in the PL at the moment? One thing i have notice over the last 4-5 games is a marked improvement in his crossing (unfortunately, poor finishing has not lead to goals) particularly his trajectory and shape. This is good news for us, in his pomp he used to hit targets with unerring regularity. Will do his confidence good too particularly if someone starts putting them in the net. Next year should be great as he will get a lot more rest as we introduce Gonzalez. Competition, rest for Harry and great role model (IMO) for Speedy. Good thread Mike, Harry deserves some credit for his season and his comeback.

Incredible read, very saddening. from a long way away and i am still trying to understand the depth of hurt and pain suffered by those involved. this article has portrayed it in the manner sufficient for me to understand all aspects of the tragedy to some degree, even if i will never truely understand. RIP 96 YNWA

Henry deserves to be rated as the best player in the world just for his consistency. More importantly for me is the most VALUABLE player on the planet. Currently that is shared between Ronaldinho and Steven GERRARD. Both players offer so much to their respective teams and i cannot pick who is best. thankfully i do not have to as i am lucky enough to support a team with one of these exceptional players. Alonso is a player who will be just as valuable in future as the Makalele, Hamann role is underated and he is showing the potential to be better than both.

When you have World Class players like SG and XA you have to get used to the fact there will be speculation every year on their whereabouts next season. It is inevitable. Treat it as a compliment and enjoy it Kewell is due for renewal of his contract i wonder what will happen if a good offer comes in for him. I believe he will get a new contract and he will stay because he is a "Rafa" type player and he wants to win a title with us but i can see leaving before SG or XA.

Cisse should never be filed under "Diouf" for obvious reasons. Cisse is a good player in the right system. Unfortunately he will find himself playing in that system about 5 times a year with us. I expect he will go and also expect Mori to go aswell. Replaced by Kuyt and Owen. If Owen deal can not be done maybe Cisse gets a lifeline and i would not be devastated because he may improve further as confidence grows but he needs to understand he will play when it suits and he may have to play on the right where he has looked better for us purely becasue we play so high in defense IMO. Whatever happens i wish DC the best and am sure he will prosper in another team that suits his game eg Lyon under GH next year!

If he wants to leave, Yes If not, No I expect us to play a lot of 3-5-2 next year against mid-low table crap = lots of goals.

It's Robbie. it all makes sense now. We didnt get him back. He bought himself. Bit of worry though if he cant still get regular starting spot. SELL ROBBIE!

Rushian, or anyone else for that matter, can you give a run down on what you know/think has happened here or what you suspect. I am in a long running argument over this with a good mate who unfortunately is a Spurs fan (unfortunate for his sake that is). Would really appreciate any comments.

Beautiful summation.

We need a RM so we can lay 3-5-2 when we go behind in a game eg Instanbul. Having said that HK can play there next year if need be but we still need one. I agree that our best form this year has been with SG at RM and i also believe SG himself is warming to the idea as it relieves him of defensive pressure and allows him to be incisive in our attack. Also means he is free to move as he sees fit. Most importantly though it gives Rafa more POSSIBILITIES!!!!!
-
Spot on. Couldnt agree more. Considering we had 2 games in hand 2 months ago and have played CL, Fa cup games, caught up and had one more than the opposition in that time ( ) it is hardly surprising some have struggled. HK has said recently he still isnt 100% and i expect a certain recovery time is needed for each game, hence why he was benched for this game with only 48 hr break. Thought he did ok today but was clearly not 100% . Mores the pity is that with 2 early goals if Traore was not injured i doubt very much HK would of featured at all and had a complete rest.

Moores may not be as intelligent as we would like but he is smart enough to put Rick Parry in charge and ensures he runs the club with the clubs traditions at (or at least near) the forefront. IMHO our greatest asset is the fact we support our managers long term, with substantial funds and most importantly complete faith. We have Rafa because of this and we will always be top of any aspiring managers list because of this. So if Moores is stupid, so be it, We are still run better than most, if not all (long term in particular).

Answers as per what i expect. I have faith in our mangement team. Parry did not say anything at any stage about Rafa and the interest in him. He has responded in the best way. New contract which implies transfer funds. Well in Rick, i for one applaud the no nonsense approach. Everything else is as i expected and i truly believe every major decision this club makes should be well thought out eg do not go for the first person offering millions eg Thaksin
