Couldnt agree more. He had to score! Haa Ha ha ha. Heaven!

Luv to see that. I know it's a bit sadistic but if Momo does Sheva's knee Sunday I will do the right thing and hold my belly laugh until I know he's got a season threatening injury. Then, even though I know I shouldn't, I will laugh my t*** off. Why? Moaninho!!! He's a tosser of the highest order!

I think having shed loads of Liverpool supporters is the main reason. We rate!!! Agree though that Harry would of increased Liverpools support here

ESPN has the charity shield.

If it is close to the truth, for me it is confirmation of the genius that is Rafa Benitez. He is a true master of the modern stars.

QFT put's it in perspective perfectly IMO

Fair question. I hope so. He had a proper preparation last year up to the OZ qualifier and after 90 mins of football he performed for Australia whenit counted. He then took a couple of weeks and performed for us for 5 months. Maybe not the Harry Kewell we all want to see but he performed his role very well IMO without dominating. He dominated the semi against Chelsea before being injured again, then trying to recover for the final, breaking down again before recovering to star for the Aussies in the WC before he gets a dose of "septic arthritis". FFS. He is frustrating as all F*** but he should recover well and has finally got true competition and a chance to rotate. I actually think this will be Harry's best year for LFC. I also think it will be his last.

Like Viduka would know? As it appears the FFa have f***ed up! not the 1st time!!! he has a sceptic arthritis infection. 6 weeks.

For some reason we are being labelled whingers. I live here and dont see that. All i saw was shock and devastation. We are a very young nation when it comes to football but i bet any country would be devastated losing like that. PS i do not blame the ref for the pen because in real time it looked like one and Lucas Neill was stupid for committing himself like that (must acknowledge his outstanding performances up to that point!). The point that needs to be made is the timing of the decision. If it happened 30min in and we couldnt score, fair enough. For me i was just starting to celebrate because i was convinced we would go to xtra time, make changes, run them of their legs and score a winner. Then we lost. In the last 10 seconds! It hurt.

I find the anti-england rather strange TBH being an Ozzie. We are rediculous in our patriotism for our teams regardless of the sport and i have to say the last month has been nothing short of "stupendous". The whole country getting behind one football team and riding the emotional wave. We saw highs and then the low. We are now being branded whingers because our media has played that card, but the truth is the football community has accepted the decision. The problem lies with the "new" fans who rode the high and were subjected to a shocking defeat. I say "shocking" because the timing of it was despicable. Last 10 seconds. If we conceded that penalty 30 min in and couldnt score after that it wouldnt matter but this was the world cup and we had a lot of new supporters that do not understand the nature of the Football. The best team does not always win and sometimes they lose in a fashion that will literally break your heart. My point is that "Soccer" is a much maligned sport here but the last month has shown everyone what potential it has here and how good it can be (It also showed everyone how cruel it can be). EVERYONE got behind the team and loved it, unifying the country like never before! I know it is different in England due to the strength of everyone attachments to their clubs (which is very admirable in its own way), and the hatred of clowns like Sven and Becks but please show a bit national pride and get behind the team. National Pride is good!! Even i want the poms to win even if it means Becks holding the cup up (only because i know Stevie has probably scored another stormer to win it )

Be fair. In the same interview he also said Instanbul remains and will almost certainly remain to be the single greatest comeback in football history but the fact he was injured early and did not play a part was a personal nightmare. Perfectly understandable i would of thought. After being injured in 3 finals (and walking off injured against Chelsea after MOM performance) i think his comments are easily accepted. He deserves a little luck IMO.

Was on here before and saw no thread, then read below and and thought, stuff it, he deserves it. "Before the game I was thinking how to use Harry because he's not in his top game shape and I was thinking of bringing him on later," Hiddink said on Friday. "But these games are special and these games need special players because they can make the difference." Assistant coach Graham Arnold praised Kewell's work ethic to get himself fit enough to play a significant 90-minute role in Australia's surprise qualification into the last 16 of the tournament. "Harry has struggled in the last few weeks with fitness but it's a testament to the guy," he said. "He wakes up at seven in the morning, he goes to the gym, he works hard, he trains hard, he eats well, he does everything to be fit. "If you talk to him he'll probably say he shouldn't be here with the injury he's had and it's testment to the guy he's given everything he can give physically to get here." Captain Mark Viduka rates Kewell as one of the greatest players he has ever played with. "I was so happy for him to score. For me Harry is definitely one of the best players I've played with," said Viduka, who plays as a lone striker for his country. "I'm happy he's with us and I was so happy for him when the ball came in, it was like I scored. We were so relieved to get that goal and he was definitely man-of-the-match for me. "He did such a good job and he makes it easier for me when I've got him around me because every time he gets it he looks for me and we look for each other." Kewell described his history-making goal against Croatia as his greatest ever. "That's the most important goal so far in my career. If it wasn't going to be me, I'm sure it was going to be someone else," he said. Kewell, who was named FIFA's official man of the match, said he was relishing the task of facing Italy for a last eight spot. "It's perfect for us," he said. "A lot of people didn't think we were going to get through the group stage, we were very confident about qualifying from this group, obviously we left it a little bit late. "But we got there and now we have to concentrate on Italy, it's going to be a great game." 10 years ago i hated "Soccer". I am 36 and as a 6yo i supported Liverpool like everyone else (1976) but soon played and followed AFL and cricket. Never thought about "Soccer" till 1996 when i moved from Adelaide back to my home town. Friend was a Football fan and introdced me again and although it took a year or two I found myself being swayed. Why? Harry Kewell. I am a huge sports fan and he inspired me. Who was this kid? Anyway he took me back to liverpool (home) and i have to say "its been emotional". If Harry gets sold this year (bloody hope not!) I will say "good luck" but I am Red forever, end of. Having said that i am so happy for him, what a rollercoaster he has ridden these past 3 years. I thought his Misses was the soapie actor! His story could be a best seller, especially if he helps win both 19 & 20 f*** it, a hatrick in the CL final for number 6

Anything is possible -
Spot on, could not agree more. We will use it against crap opposition and good opposition when we have to chase the game. Makes perfect sense as it allows us to use all 3 CM's. We will see other formations but as you say i feel we will see 3-5-2, a lot. One of our problems last season is although we won a lot we had to fight the wins out to the end due to 1 goal leads too often. 3-5-2 against the lower sides should mean some comfortable wins which equates to rest for the key players, particularly if we want to win multiple trophies. Bring it on

This program showed what an effort it was for him, a life time of work against the odds. You have to admire that in anyone. Everything he said should and needed to happen (eg. WC qualification, sustainable league based on location (not race) and joining the asian league) is happening right now. PS His comments that Australia had to get away from concentranting on qualifying for the WC and start concentrating on winning showed what a visionary he is. I am not saying we will win it this year but Australia has the potential to become a Football superpower in time. -

No idea, but i bet it will be. Ostrich Man - He died about 3 months before we qualified for the WC last November. Pretty sad really, if anyone deserved to see that game he did. -

Cant agree with that. They got a very fortunate lead from nothing, and showed stuff all after that. They had plenty of chances as the game went on as we had to attack and even when guilt edged chances presented they were sadly lacking. Felt the ball was not falling our way at all but eventually it did and then justice prevailed. Must say i was happy with Harry's game today but he should of been given more time on the left as he is more effective there. Well played Lucas Neill & Vince Grella, in fact all the players. PS except Emerton who has been disappointing all season and is a problem. -

Aussies won and deservedly so. Japan offered stuff all and their goal was a joke. Well done Australia, feeling very proud right now, especially for our Harry who was not expected to start, great game son. -
